Wexford ( ; archaic Yola: ''Weiseforthe'') is the county town of County Wexford, Ireland. Wexford lies on the south side of Wexford Harbour, the estuary of the River Slaney near the southeastern corner of the island of Ireland. Selskar Abbey () is a ruined Augustinian abbey in Wexford, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Founded in the twelfth century, the abbey's full name was the Priory of St Peter and St Paul. The name is derived from Old Norse language, Old Norse ''selr-skar'', "Pinniped, seal skerry." Yola Dialect
Yola, more commonly and historically the Forth and Bargy dialect, is an extinct dialect of the Middle English language once spoken in the baronies of Forth and Bargy in County Wexford, Ireland. As such, it was probably similar to the Fingallian dialect of the Fingal area. Both became functionally extinct in the 19th century when they were replaced by modern Hiberno-English. The word means in the dialect. In modern times, there have been efforts to revive the dialect. History Origins The dialect was spoken in County Wexford, particularly in the baronies of Forth and Bargy. This was the first area English speakers came to in the Norman invasion of Ireland, supporting the theory that it evolved from the Middle English introduced in that period. Rail transport in Ireland (InterCity, commuter and freight) is provided by Iarnród Éireann in the Republic of Ireland and by Northern Ireland Railways in Northern Ireland. Most routes in the Republic radiate from Dublin. Northern Ireland has suburban routes from Belfast and two main InterCity lines, to Derry and cross-Irish border, border to Dublin. N25 Road (Ireland)
The N25 road is a national primary road in Ireland, forming the route from Cork to Rosslare Europort via Waterford City. The road is part of the E30 European route and a short section is also part of the E01 European route. It forms part of the proposed Atlantic Corridor route. Route Up to 22 February 2012, the Cork South Ring Road was designated as part of the N25. However, on 23 February, this section of road was redesignated as N40 and hence from this date, the N25 now commences at the Dunkettle Interchange. From the Dunkettle Interchange the N25 commences east as the ''East Cork Parkway'' dual-carriageway, with interchanges for Fota Island and Cobh, and also Carrigtwohill. The N11 road is a national primary road in Republic of Ireland, Ireland, running for along the east side of Ireland from Dublin to Wexford. It passes close to Bray, County Wicklow, Bray, Greystones, Wicklow, Arklow, Gorey, and Enniscorthy. Beyond Wexford, the route continues to Rosslare Europort, Rosslare as the N25 road (Ireland), N25.
