Western High School is an accredited Public school (government funded), public high school located in Anaheim, California, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is one of ten high schools in the Anaheim Union High School District. It is located in the western end of Anaheim and also serves southwest Buena Park, California, Buena Park and northwest Stanton, California, Stanton. It was established in 1954. The school's mascot is the Pioneer. Academics Western High is a two time California Distinguished High School. Athletics Athletic teams compete in the CIF Southern Section of the California Interscholastic Federation and are known as the "Pioneers". Notable athletes from the school include Tiger Woods and Andy Messersmith. In 2007, the Pioneers won the 2007 CIF wrestling championship. Western High School is a public high school under the Clark County School District in Nevada, United States. The school opened in 1960, and was the third high school built in Las Vegas, Nevada, after Las Vegas High School (1931) and Rancho High School (1954). The campus is located at 4601 West Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, Nevada. In March 2011 Western was identified as one of five "persistently" low-performing schools in Clark County, Nevada, eligible for federal School Improvement grants. Western Canada High School
Western Canada High School is a public high school in Calgary, Alberta that has operated since 1929. The high school was antedated by Western Canada College, a boys' preparatory school in the style of a British public school that opened in 1903. The College existed until the end of the 1926 academic year when it closed due to financial problems. The Calgary Board of Education purchased the property that year, and by September 1929 completed a group of new school buildings on the site. From 1929 to 1935 academic and technical schools operated independently on the Western property, until which time they merged under a single administration. Western Canada is one of Calgary's oldest and most prestigious educational institutions. Paris Western High School, formerly Paris Western School, was a segregated public school for African American students in Paris, Kentucky, United States. History Paris Colored High School opened in 1895 as a segregated public school for African American students in Paris. It preceded Paris Western High School which opened in September 1925, with G. W. Adams as principal, and Ennis B. Toles as assistant professor.
