Valencian Pilota
Valencian pilota ( "Valencian ball") is a traditional handball sport played in the Valencian Community. Its origins are not known. Rules variations within the generic ''Pilota Valenciana'' category are frequent from area to area but the common trait is that the ball is struck with a bare, or almost bare, hand (only minimal protection is applied in some versions of the sport). The general rule involves two teams made from two up to five players each (the numbers depend on the particular version played). Exceptionally, individual matches are also played (mostly in Escala i corda and Raspall) between the most renowned players. The second characteristic is that it is not played against a wall. Instead, similar to modern tennis, two individuals or teams are placed face to face separated either by a line on the ground or a net in all of modern modalities except for the frontó. A distinctive trait of Valencian pilota is that the spectators are often seated or standing very close t ...

Sport
Sport is a physical activity or game, often Competition, competitive and organization, organized, that maintains or improves physical ability and skills. Sport may provide enjoyment to participants and entertainment to spectators. The number of participants in a particular sport can vary from hundreds of people to a single individual. Sport competitions may use a team or single person format, and may be Open (sport), open, allowing a broad range of participants, or closed, restricting participation to specific groups or those invited. Competitions may allow a "tie" or "draw", in which there is no single winner; others provide tie-breaking methods to ensure there is only one winner. They also may be arranged in a tournament format, producing a champion. Many sports leagues make an annual champion by arranging games in a regular sports season, followed in some cases by playoffs. Bouncing Ball
The physics of a bouncing ball concerns the physical behaviour of bouncing balls, particularly its motion before, during, and after impact against the surface of another body. Several aspects of a bouncing ball's behaviour serve as an introduction to mechanics in high school or undergraduate level physics courses. However, the exact modelling of the behaviour is complex and of interest in sports engineering. The motion of a ball is generally described by projectile motion (which can be affected by gravity, drag, the Magnus effect, and buoyancy), while its impact is usually characterized through the coefficient of restitution (which can be affected by the nature of the ball, the nature of the impacting surface, the impact velocity, rotation, and local conditions such as temperature and pressure). To ensure fair play, many sports governing bodies set limits on the bounciness of their ball and forbid tampering with the ball's aerodynamic properties. The bounciness of balls h ...

List Of Valencian Trinquets
A list is a set of discrete items of information collected and set forth in some format for utility, entertainment, or other purposes. A list may be memorialized in any number of ways, including existing only in the mind of the list-maker, but lists are frequently written down on paper, or maintained electronically. Lists are "most frequently a tool", and "one does not ''read'' but only ''uses'' a list: one looks up the relevant information in it, but usually does not need to deal with it as a whole".Lucie Doležalová,The Potential and Limitations of Studying Lists, in Lucie Doležalová, ed., ''The Charm of a List: From the Sumerians to Computerised Data Processing'' (2009). Purpose It has been observed that, with a few exceptions, "the scholarship on lists remains fragmented". David Wallechinsky, a co-author of ''The Book of Lists'', described the attraction of lists as being "because we live in an era of overstimulation, especially in terms of information, and lists help us ...

Valencian Frontó
Frontó () is a modified Valencian pilota version of the original Basque Pelota game. The name ''frontó'' refers both to the game, ball and the playing area. Unlike some of the more popular Valencian Pilota rules, ''frontó'' is an indirect game, that is, players do not stand face-to-face but share a common playing area. History The first ''frontó'' in Valencia is dated in the late 1800s, and was called the "Jai Alai" (Basque for ''joyful party''). On 12 June 1894 the newspaper '' El Mercantil'' announced one of the first matches with 4 Basque players. After its foreign origins, Valencian ''frontó'' evolved with the use of a different ball, the "tec", so that it has more in common with Valencian pilota. So far, though, it has not gained as much popularity as the Escala i corda or Raspall rule variations, the only version of pilota with professional players. Valencian and Basque Pelota players now meet in casual tournaments or exhibitions despite the use of different balls ...

Galotxa
Galotxa () is a variety of Valencian pilota, pilota that is always played in the street, whether artificial or natural, practiced mostly in the northern counties of the Xúquer river. In the evolution of the various Valencian pilota forms, Galotxa would be immediate precursor of the Escala i corda (a net in the center of the court, starting the game with the ''ferida'', and the ball can bounce only once on the ground), but without the stairs nor ''llotgetes'' (in natural streets galleries neither exist). There are only amateur players, although many professionals ''pilotaris'' (pilota players) of ''Escala i corda'' began in Galotxa, such as Álvaro Navarro Serra, Álvaro. Playing area Galotxa games are played on the street. This street should be straight and flat, about long and 7 meters wide. But these are only guides, and usually people elect a street that fits more to their style of play. Furthermore, given the dominance of cars and streets in the neighborhood nuisance, so ...
