Säräisniemi
Säräisniemi () is a village in the Vaala, Vaala municipality in North Ostrobothnia, Finland. The village was the municipal center of the then Säräisniemi municipality until 1954. The village is located on the west side of Lake Oulujärvi, on the shore of Niskanselkä, on a long cape of the same name, about from Vaala's town centre, from Kestilä and from Vuolijoki. The Finnish settlement in the Säräisniemi region began in 1552 when the Swedish King Gustav Vasa ordered the Savonian people to settle the wilderness surrounding Lake Oulujärvi. Kainuu
Kainuu (), also historically known as Cajania (), is one of the 19 regions of Finland (''maakunta'' / ''landskap''). Kainuu borders the regions of North Ostrobothnia, North Savo and North Karelia. Manamansalo
Manamansalo is the largest island in the Oulujärvi, the fifth largest lake in Finland. Administratively it belongs to the Vaala municipality in North Ostrobothnia, or Kainuu until 2016. It is the seventh largest inland island in Finland, or the fifth largest if Soisalo and Sääminginsalo are not counted as islands. Geography Manamansalo is located between the Ärjänselkä and Niskanselkä areas (fjards) of Oulujärvi. The main village on the island is also known as Manamansalo. Kainuu Dialect
The Kainuu dialect () is a dialect of Finnish spoken in Kainuu, Vaala, Koillismaa, Posio and Ranua. It belongs to the Savonian dialects, or more broadly, the eastern dialects of Finnish. Oulujärvi () or Lake Oulu or Ule (), is a large lake in the Kainuu region of Finland. It is also historically known as Lake Cajania from a former name of Kainuu..
