U.S. Avellino 1912
Unione Sportiva Avellino 1912, commonly referred to as US Avellino 1912, is an Italian professional football club based in Avellino, Campania. It competes in Serie B, the second tier of Italian football. It is the official continuity club of US Avellino 1912, known worldwide for having competed in Serie A for ten consecutive seasons, from 1978–1979 to 1987–1988. The team went through two major reboots: once, in 2009, when it went bankrupt, and then, in 2018, when it was excluded from Serie B. In both cases, new clubs were founded to join the Serie D league. The Stadio Partenio-Lombardi is a multi-purpose stadium in Avellino, Italy. It is currently used mostly for association football, football matches and is the home of U.S. Avellino 1912. The stadium was built in 1973 and holds 26,308. On 9 June 2011 the stadium was dedicated to former Avellino player Adriano Lombardi. Alessandro Calori
Alessandro Calori (born 29 August 1966) is an Italian football coach and former player, last in charge as head coach of Ternana. As a defender, he is mostly remembered for his lengthy spell with Udinese during the 90s, where he also served as the club's captain. Playing career Calori was born in Arezzo. A product of Arezzo's youth system, Calori made his professional debut in 1985 with Serie C team Montevarchi, where he spent four season. After two seasons with Pisa, in 1991 Calori joined Udinese, where he spent eight seasons, all as a regular starter, gaining a reputation as a powerful and physically strong centre back, with good leadership skills, and later also being named the club's captain. Guido Carboni (born 27 January 1963) is an Italian football manager most recently in charge of Olbia and a former player, who played as a forward. He is the brother of former Italian international footballer Amedeo Carboni, who also played for Sampdoria, Roma, and Valencia at club level as a defender. Maurizio Sarri
Maurizio Sarri (; born 10 January 1959) is an Italian professional football manager who is currently manager of Serie A club Lazio. Sarri did not play football professionally, taking part as an amateur centre back and coach while working as a banker. In 2005, he had his first Serie B job at Pescara. In 2014, Sarri won promotion to Serie A with Empoli, and after preserving their place in the top flight he was hired by Napoli. He won several individual awards while managing the Naples-based club; after finishing as league runners-up in 2017–18, Sarri moved to English club Chelsea, where he won the UEFA Europa League in his only season with the club. Giovanni Vavassori (born 16 January 1952) is an Italian football manager and former player who last managed Verona. Playing career Born in Arcene, Bergamo, Vavassori started his playing career with Atalanta, where he made his Serie A debut in the 1971–72 season. A centre-back he played five consecutive Serie A seasons with Napoli from 1972 to 1977, before returning to Atalanta. He left Atalanta in 1982 to join Cagliari, and retired one year later. Giuseppe Galderisi (; born 22 March 1963) is an Italian football manager and a former footballer who played as a forward. Club career At club level, Galderisi played for several Italian teams throughout his career, scoring almost 200 goals across the various divisions of Italian football. Serie C1 was the third highest football league in Italy. It consisted of 36 teams, divided geographically into two divisions. History Before the 1978–79 season, there were only three professional football leagues in Italy, the third being Serie C. The league menaging the C was also organizing the semi-professional Serie D. In 1978, it was decided to split the Serie C into Serie C1 (the third highest league) and Serie C2, moving the remnants of the Serie D to the amatorial sector as Campionato Interregionale. Dirceu José Guimarães, known as Dirceu (; 15 June 1952 – 15 September 1995), was a Brazilian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder, notably for Botafogo and the Brazil national team as well as numerous Italian teams in the 1980s–early 1990s.
