Dictyomeridium
''Dictyomeridium'' is a genus of corticolous (bark-dwelling), crustose lichens in the family Trypetheliaceae. It has eight species. Taxonomy The genus was circumscribed in 2016 by lichenologists André Aptroot, Matthew Nelson, and Robert Lücking, with ''Dictyomeridium proponens'' assigned as the type species. The seven species they included in the genus were mostly previously classified in the genus ''Polymeridium'', while the type species was known by different names in the genus ''Campylothelium''. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the group of species was distant from the core group of their previous genus. An eight species, from Australia, was added to the genus in 2022. Description ''Dictyomeridium'' is distinguished from other genera in the family Trypetheliaceae by its (multichambered) ascospores, the lateral ostioles of its ascomata, and several subtle microscopic differences in the form of the and the ascospores. ''Dictyomeridium'' species are distinguished from ea ...

Nigrovothelium
''Nigrovothelium'' is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Trypetheliaceae. It has three species. The genus was circumscribed in 2016 by lichenologists Robert Lücking, Matthew Nelsen, and André Aptroot, to contain species formerly in the ''Trypethelium tropicum'' species group. The type species, ''Nigrovothelium tropicum'', was originally described by Erik Acharius in 1810, as a species of ''Verrucaria. The genus can be characterised by its differences from other similar Trypetheliaceae genera. It differs from ''Astrothelium'' in that it has ascomata that are black, fully exposed, and sessile. It differs from '' Bathelium'' in its mostly single, black ascomata and astrothelioid ascospores. It differs from ''Polymeridium'' in its thallus and astrothelioid ascospores. Species * ''Nigrovothelium bullatum'' * ''Nigrovothelium inspersotropicum'' * ''Nigrovothelium tropicum ''Nigrovothelium'' is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Trypetheliaceae. Aptrootia
''Aptrootia'' is a genus of fungi in the family Trypetheliaceae. It has three species. The genus was circumscribed by Robert Lücking and Harrie Sipman in 2007, with ''Aptrootia terricola'' assigned as the type species. This species, originally described by Dutch mycologist André Aptroot as a species of ''Thelenella'', is known from Papua New Guinea and Costa Rica. Later molecular work showed that the species did not belong in ''Thelenella'' (Aptroot himself had expressed doubt about this generic placement), but rather, in the Trypetheliaceae, with a sister taxon relationship to a branch including '' Bathelium'' and a lineage containing ''Trypethelium floridanum''. The new genus name honours Aptroot, "in recognition of his numerous contributions to tropical lichenology". Species in genus ''Aptrootia'' have completely immersed perithecia with a brown-black ostiolar region. This is surrounded by a white, cartilaginous thallus reminiscent of those in family Gomphillaceae. Species ...
