Triozidae
Triozidae is one of seven families, collectively referred to as Psylloidea, plant lice, based on the type genus ''Trioza''. They had traditionally been considered part of a single family, Psyllidae, but recent classifications divide the superfamily into a total of seven families; most of the genera remain in the Psyllidae, but Triozidae is the third-largest family in the group. The family contains a number of agricultural pest species including: * ''Baeoalitriozus diospyri'', the persimmon psyllid * ''Bactericera cockerelli'', the potato psyllid * ''Lauritrioza alacris'', infesting Laurus nobilis, bay trees and their relatives * ''Trioza erytreae'', the African citrus psyllid Genera The Global Biodiversity Information FacilityGlobal Biodiversity Information Facility: Family Triozidae

Psylloidea
Psylloidea is a Taxonomic rank, superfamily of Hemiptera, true bugs, including the jumping plant louse, jumping plant lice and others which have recently been classified as distinct families. Though the group first appeared during the Early Jurassic, modern members of the group do not appear until the Eocene, and Mesozoic members of the order are usually assigned to the possibly Paraphyly, paraphyletic family Liadopsyllidae. Families The following Extant taxon, extant families are included:Burckhardt D, Ouvrard D, Percy DM (2021) An updated classification of the jumping plant-lice (Hemiptera: Psylloidea) integrating molecular and morphological evidence. Trioza Adventicia
''Trioza adventicia'', commonly known as the syzygium leaf psyllid, lillypilly psyllid, or eugenia psyllid, is a sap-sucking hemipteran bug in the family Triozidae which creates galls on the leaves of ''Syzygium paniculatum''. This species is native to eastern Australia and has been introduced into California, southern Australia, and New Zealand. The nymphs form pit galls in the leaves and stunt the plant's growth. ''Trioza adventicia'' was for decades identified as ''Trioza eugeniae'' Froggatt 1901 in the ornamental plant industry, in the field of biological pest control in the United States, and in its native eastern Australia, resulting in a large body of academic literature—and an even larger number of horticultural resources—using the latter name for the present species. Using multiple lines of morphology (biology), morphological evidence and DNA barcoding, a 2019 study confirmed that ''T. adventicia'' and ''T. eugeniae'' are distinct species, and determined that the wid ...

Trioza Erytreae
''Trioza erytreae'', the African citrus psyllid, is a sap-sucking insect, a hemipteran bug in the family Triozidae. It is an important pest of citrus, being one of only two known vectors of the serious citrus disease, '' huanglongbing'' or citrus greening disease. It is widely distributed in Africa. The other vector is the Asian citrus psyllid, '' Diaphorina citri''.EPPO

Distribution

The citrus psyllid is found in Cameroon, Comoros, the Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Réunion, Rwanda, South Africa, St. Helena, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It is also found in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the Macaronesian archipelagos of Madeira and the Canary islands. It is sensitive to hot, dry conditions and favours cool, moist areas 500 m above sea level. ...

Laurus Nobilis
''Laurus nobilis'' is an aromatic evergreen tree or large shrub with green, glabrous (smooth) leaves. It is in the flowering plant family Lauraceae. According to Flora Cretica (Kleinsteuber Books, 2024, ISBN 978-3-9818110-5-6) the stem can be 1 meter in diameter; the tree can be as high as 20 metres. It is native to the Mediterranean region and is used as bay leaf for seasoning in cooking. Its common names include bay tree (esp. United Kingdom), bay laurel, sweet bay, true laurel, Grecian laurel, or simply laurel. ''Laurus nobilis'' figures prominently in classical Greco-Roman culture. Worldwide, many other kinds of plants in diverse families are also called "bay" or "laurel", generally due to similarity of foliage or aroma to ''Laurus nobilis''. Description The laurel is an evergreen shrub or small tree, variable in size and sometimes reaching tall. The genus ''Laurus'' includes three accepted species, whose diagnostic key characters often overlap. The bay laurel is dioec ...
