Spellemannprisen Winners
The Spellemannprisen (also referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards) is a Norwegian music award ceremony presented by IFPI Norge and FONO. It was first awarded in 1973 for the recording year 1972, and has been awarded every year since. It is the most significant award that a group or artist can receive in Norwegian music. The award ceremony is organized by the Spellemann Committee, which is appointed by IFPI Norge and FONO. The annual ceremony features performances by prominent artists. The awards are presented in a widely viewed broadcast ceremony. The awards are the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards for music, and it is one of the major awards in Norway along with the Gullruten for television, Amandaprisen for motion pictures, and Heddaprisen for stage performances. Music Of Norway
Much has been learned about early music in Norway from physical artifacts found during archaeological digs. These include instruments such as the lur. Viking and medieval sagas also describe musical activity, as do the accounts of priests and pilgrims from all over Europe coming to visit St. Olav's shrine, St Olav's grave in Trondheim. Kvelertak
is a Norwegian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Stavanger, formed in 2007. The group comprises vocalist Ivar Nikolaisen, guitarists Vidar Landa and Maciek Ofstad, bassist Marvin Nygaard and drummer Håvard Takle Ohr. Founding member and lead singer Erlend Hjelvik left the group in 2018, being replaced by Ivar Nikolaisen. Most of Kvelertak's songs have Norwegian lyrics, and their main influences are rock and roll, black metal and punk rock. The band's Kvelertak (album), self-titled debut album was released in 2010 and sold more than 15,000 copies in Norway. Oslo Philharmonic
The Oslo Philharmonic () is a Norwegian symphony orchestra based in Oslo, Norway. The orchestra traces its roots to the Philharmonic Society founded in 1847 and the Christiania Musical Association co-founded by Edvard Grieg in 1871, and was established in its current form in 1919. Since 1977, it has had its home in the Oslo Concert Hall. The orchestra gives an average of sixty to seventy symphonic concerts annually, the majority of which are broadcast nationally on the radio. Undergrunn
Undergrunn is a Norwegian hip hop group that was formed in Oslo in 2018. The band consists of six members: Patrick Bakkeng (Fretex), Gabriel Doria (Plaza), Sverre Skogheim Gudmestad (Pus), Jo Almaas Marstein (Marstein), Jon Ranes (Loverboy) and Marcos Haugestad (Rikpappa). History Growing up in Tøyen and Gamlebyen in Oslo, Undergrunn came together to create music during secondary school. At 15, they debuted with the song "Isbil," leading to an appearance on By:Larm. Donkeyboy (occasionally stylised as donkeyboy) is a synthpop band from Drammen, Norway, formed in 2005. The band consists of Cato Sundberg (vocals, rhythm guitar), Kent Sundberg (synth, vocals), Peter Michelsen (guitar, backing vocals) and Thomas Drabløs (drums) History Donkeyboy were signed to Warner Music after an employee came across their music on MySpace. Their debut single, " Ambitions" was released on 26 March 2009 and was put into heavy rotation by NRK P3. Emilie Nicolas Kongshavn (born 26 November 1987), known under the stage name Emilie Nicolas, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter from Bærum. She is best known for her jazz-inspired vocals and electronic sound.
