Sinipercidae
Sinipercidae, the Chinese perches or Oriental perches, is a Family (biology), family of freshwater ray-finned fishes , part of the order Centrarchiformes. They have been placed within the temperate perch family (Percichthyidae) in the past, but are now known to be most closely related to the North American freshwater sunfish and pygmy sunfish, within Centrarchidae and Elassomatidae. The earliest known member of the group in the fossil record is ''Coreoperca chosun'' from the Early Miocene of South Korea. Behaviour Based on genetic adaption, species of Sinipercidae fish have different growth, predatory feeding habit, aggression and Fish anatomy, pyloric caeca development. These fishes mostly eat live prey fishes because they have low Ectodysplasin A receptor, Ectodysplasin A Receptor(EDAR) and very few gill rakers. In some species, larvae are cannibals at first feeding which leads to death of predator and prey. Genera There are two extant genera and one extinct genus within the ...

Coreoperca
''Coreoperca'' is a genus of ray-finned fish native to eastern Asia. The members of the genus ''Coreoperca'' are known as the oriental perches or eastern perches, freshwater gamefish belonging to the family Sinipercidae. Centrarchiformes Families
Centrarchiformes is an order of ray-finned fish, previously included amongst the perciformes. Froese, R. and D. Pauly. Editors. (2023). FishBase. Centrarchiformes. Accessed through: World Register of Marine Species at: https://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1517557 on 2023-11-12 The order Centrarchiformes is not recognized in the 5th Edition (2016) of ''Fishes of the World'', but is accepted on the World Register of Marine Species in November 2023, Fishbase, and ''Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes''. Many centrarchiforms look essentially perch-like, featuring a stocky build and a spine-bearing dorsal fin, and range in size from in length (for '' Elassoma gilberti),'' to for the '' Maccullochella peelii.'' The earliest fossils of this group are of '' Percichthys'' from the Early Paleocene of Bolivia, although this status is tentative. If these remains are not of a percichthyid, then the earliest known centrarchiform fossils are of oplegnathids from the Early Eoc ...

Centrarchidae
Centrarchidae, better known as sunfishes or centrarchids, is a family of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the order Centrarchiformes, native only to North America. There are eight universally included genera within the centrarchid family: '' Lepomis'' (true sunfishes), '' Micropterus'' (black basses), ''Pomoxis'' ( crappies), '' Enneacanthus'' (banded sunfishes), ''Centrarchus'' ( type genus, consisting solely of the flier ''C. macropterus''), ''Archoplites'' ( Sacramento perch), '' Ambloplites'' (rock basses), and ''Acantharchus'' ( mud sunfish). Their closest relatives are the pygmy sunfishes of the family Elassomatidae, which are sometimes placed in the same family, although presently treated as distinct. The centrarchid family comprises 38 identified species, 34 of which are extant. It includes many popular game fishes familiar to North American anglers, such as the rock bass, largemouth bass, bluegill, pumpkinseed, green sunfish and crappies. Most sunfish a ...

Siniperca Scherzeri
The golden mandarin fish (''Siniperca scherzeri''), also known as the leopard mandarin fish, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish, an Asian perch from the family Sinipercidae, which is native to eastern Asia (Korea, China, and Vietnam). This species can reach at least in standard length and in weight. It is typically yellowish-brown with blackish-brown speckles ("leopard"), but there are also bright yellow ("golden") individuals, which are particularly prized in Korea and selectively bred in captivity. It is a commercially important fish, but has declined due to overfishing and habitat loss.Liu, L.; X.-F. Liang; and J. Fang (2017). The optimal stocking density for hybrid of Siniperca chuatsi (♀) × Siniperca scherzeri (♂) mandarin fish fed minced prey fish. Aquaculture Research 48(3): 1342–1345. It is farmed; typically using pure specimens, but sometimes involving hybrids with the faster-growing mandarin fish (''Siniperca chuatsi''). Danyang County Danyang County ...

Temperate Perch
Percichthyidae, the temperate perches, are a family of freshwater ray-finned fish found in Australia and southern South America. Formerly placed in the order Perciformes, they are now placed in the order Centrarchiformes. The name Percichthyidae derives from the Latin ''perca'' for perch and Ancient Greek ἰχθύς, ''ichthys'' for fish. Evolution Potential percichthyid fossil remains are known from the Early Paleocene of the El Molino Formation of Bolivia; these remains have been described as resembling those of the fossil '' Percichthys hondoensis'' from the Eocene of Argentina. One articulated specimen is known from the Paleocene portion of the formation, but other remains are known from the Maastrichtian beds of the formation, indicating that percichthyids could have potential Cretaceous origins. However, the condition of this material is unclear. Another fossil percichthyid, '' Percichthys lonquimayiensis'' from Chile, was initially dated to the Paleocene, but further ...
