Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, known professionally as Sinach, (born 30 March 1972) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and senior worship leader, serving in this capacity for over 30 years. She is the first singer-songwriter to top the Billboard Christian Songwriter chart for 12 weeks in a row. Her song "Way Maker" received three nominations and won the Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards, making her the first Nigerian to win the Award. She also won the BMI song of the year, and in 2021 was recognized by the US Congress while on tour in the United States of America. Afikpo South
Edda is a local government area in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. It was formerly known as Afikpo South, until the renaming was confirmed by President Muhammadu Buhari on 17 March 2023. History Most of the autonomous communities of Edda existed as small city states, with each having its own monarch. These communities, made up of about 72 villages today, functioned as a confederation until 1867, when the British colonialists incorporated Edda into the Southern Protectorate, which later became the Southern Nigeria Protectorate. The defunct city states still have monarchs that have no administrative functions, but serve as social and cultural representatives. Edda was previously known as Akipfo South, a name which was assigned when it was separated from the Akipfo Local Government Area in 1991 by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Leeland (band)
Leeland is a Christian rock band from Baytown, Texas. The band was formed in 2004, although lead singer Leeland Mooring had been writing songs beforehand. Leeland consists of Leeland Mooring (lead vocals, guitar), and Casey Moore (guitar, background vocals). The band's original line-up included Jeremiah Wood (guitar), who left the band in late 2006 and was replaced by guitarist Matt Campbell in early 2007, Jack Mooring (piano), Mike Smith (drums) and Jake Holtz (bass). Leeland has released five studio albums, the latest in July 2016. The band received a Grammy Award nomination and two Dove Award nominations for their debut album ''Sound of Melodies'' (2006). The Groove Awards is a Kenyan annual Gospel award. The winners are chosen by the public. The award's coverage has spread to include other East African countries, including Rwanda. Christian Oyakhilome (born 7 December 1963), known as Pastor Chris, is a Nigerian pastor, author, televangelist, and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, a Christian ministry based in Lagos. The Eastern Region was an administrative region in Nigeria, dating back originally from the division of the colony Southern Nigeria in 1954. Its first capital was Calabar. The capital was later moved to Enugu and the second capital was Umuahia. The region was officially divided in 1967 into three new states, the East-Central State, Rivers State and South-Eastern State.
