Shahjahanpur
Shahjahanpur () is a municipal corporation, town and district headquarters of Shahjahanpur District in Western Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located between Bareilly and Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. History Shahjahanpur was established by Diler Khan and Bahadur Khan, sons of Darya Khan, a soldier in army of the Mughal emperor Jahangir. Darya Khan was originally from Kandahar, in modern-day Afghanistan. Both Diler Khan and Bahadur Khan were dignitaries in the regime of Shah Jahan. Pleased with the services of Diler Khan, Shah Jahan gave him 17 villages with the permission to construct a fort in 1647, following the suppression of the rebellious Katheria Rajputs. The area was then settled by Afghans, brought by Bahadur Khan following one of his campaigns. Shahjahanpur District
Shahjahanpur is a district of Uttar Pradesh India. It is a part of Bareilly division. It was established in 1813 by the British Government. Previously it was a part of district Bareilly. Geographically the main town is Shahjahanpur, which is its headquarters. Its five tehsils are: Powayan, Kalan, Shahjahanpur, Kalan, Tilhar, Jalalabad, Shahjahanpur, Jalalabad and Shahjahanpur, Sadar. History Very little is known about the early history of this region. There are prominent ruins at Mati, Nigohi, Shahjahanpur, Nigohi, and Gola Raipur. The area covered by Shahjahanpur district was likely part of the ancient kingdom of Ahichhatra, which is supported by numerous Ahichhatra coins found at Mati, which appears to have been an important city in ancient times. Deoha
The Deoha is a tributary of the Ramganga river. It rises in the Shivalik Hills and flows through the states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. It is known by the names of Nanda or Nandhaur in the Kumaon division, Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Upon its entry into the plains of Uttar Pradesh, the river gets the name of Deoha. Further downstream, it is also known as Garra. The holy sikh town of Nanakmatta is located on the banks of Deoha, and it is where the Nanak Sagar dam has been constructed on the river. Bareilly () is a city in Bareilly district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is among the largest metropolises in Western Uttar Pradesh and is the centre of the Bareilly division as well as the historical region of Rohilkhand. Diler Khan
Diler Khan Daudzai was a Mughal general who served under Aurangzeb and was the governor of Awadh. He is known for engaging in battle and killing Murarbaji, the military general of Shivaji and the in-charge of Purandar Forts. His brother's name was Nawab Bahadur Khan. Diler Khan and Bahadur Khan together established the famous district Shahjahanpur located in Uttar Pradesh. He was also responsible for the Mughal victory over Shivaji in the Battle of Bhupalgarh.
