Sorkheh () is a city in the Central District of Sorkheh County, Semnan province, Iran, serving as capital of the county. It was the capital of Sorkheh District of Semnan County until its capital was transferred to the village of Lasjerd. Demographics Language Sorkhei, a Semnani dialect and language, is still spoken by some of its inhabitants. Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 9,062 in 2,686 households, when it was capital of Sorkheh District in Semnan County. The following census in 2011 counted 9,711 people in 3,045 households. Lasgerd Rural District
Lasgerd Rural District () is in the Central District (Sorkheh County), Central District of Sorkheh County, Semnan province, Semnan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Lasjerd. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of Central District (Sorkheh County), Sorkheh District in Semnan County) was 2,135 in 693 households. There were 2,157 inhabitants in 719 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 1,973 in 740 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sorkheh County and renamed the Central District. Hafdar Rural District
Hafdar Rural District () is in Hafdar District of Sorkheh County, Semnan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Aftar. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of Central District (Sorkheh County), Sorkheh District in Semnan County) was 2,997 in 816 households. There were 2,985 inhabitants in 895 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 3,599 in 1,202 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sorkheh County and renamed the Central District. The most populous of its 48 villages was Mowmenabad, Sorkheh, Mowmenabad, with 1,796 people. After the census, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Hafdar District.
