Proastiakos
The Proastiakos (; "suburban") is Greece's commuter rail service, run by Hellenic Train, on rail infrastructure owned by the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) (lines) and GAIAOSE (buildings and Trains). These services connect a participating city's Central station, central railway station to important locations such as a city's port or airport, as well as its suburbs and occasionally nearby towns and cities. As of September 2020, there are three Proastiakos networks serving the country's three largest cities: Athens Suburban Railway, Athens, Thessaloniki, and Patras, providing them with commuter rail links towards their suburbs and also with regional services to other cities and towns. Athens Suburban Railway
The Athens Suburban Railway (), officially the Athens Suburban and Regional Railway, is a commuter rail service that connects the city of Athens and its metropolitan area with other places in Attica, Boeotia, Corinthia and the city of Chalcis in Euboea. The first section of the Suburban Railway, linking the main Athens railway station with the Athens International Airport, opened on 30 July 2004 – two weeks before the start of the 2004 Summer Olympics in the Greek capital. From 2005 to 2018, the network was gradually electrified and expanded to serve to the south, and to the west, and to the north. Hellenic Train
Hellenic Train S.A., formerly TrainOSE S.A. (), is a private railway company in Greece which operates passenger and freight trains on OSE lines. Hellenic Train employs train crews, operators and manages most of the rail services throughout the Greek railway network, leasing rolling stock owned by GAIAOSE except for ETR 470 trains. The company was a subsidiary of the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) until 2008, when it became an independent state-owned company until its privatisation in 2017. TrainOSE was acquired in September 2017 by the Italian national railway company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane. In 2022 the company rebranded as Hellenic Train. Agios Andreas Railway Station
Agios Andreas railway station () is a railway station in Kato Achaia in the northwestern Peloponnese, Greece. The station is on the former Patras–Kyparissia line However Since the suspension of regional services on the metre-gauge railways of the Peloponnese in 2011, the station is used only by local ''Proastiakos'' trains, served by Proastiakos Patras P1 & P2 Services. Kato Achaia Railway Station
Kato Achaia railway station () is a railway station in Kato Achaia in the northwestern Peloponnese, Greece. The station is on the former Patras–Kyparissia line and is served by Proastiakos Patras Services. History The station opened in December 1888 as Achaia railway station and was the westward terminus of the line from Patras, until a year later, the line was extended to Pyrgos. With the cancellation of the routes of the Patras-Kyparissia metric railway line, its facilities remained inactive. In 1970 OSE became the legal successor to the SEK, taking over responsibilities for most of Greece's rail infrastructure. The Hellenic Railways Organisation or OSE ( or ) is the Greek national railway company which owns, maintains and operates all railway infrastructure in Greece with the exception of Athens Metro, Athens' rapid transit lines.
