Poland has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times since its debut in . The Polish participating broadcaster in the contest is (TVP). Poland's debut in the contest in remains its most successful entry, with " To nie ja!" by Edyta Górniak finishing second. This remains Poland's only top five result in the contest. The country reached the top ten for the second time with Ich Troje finishing seventh in . Poland then failed to qualify from the semi-finals in six out of seven years between 2005 and 2011, before withdrawing from the contest in 2012. Since returning in 2014, Poland had qualified for the final for four consecutive years (2014–2017), achieving a third top ten finish in , with Michał Szpak finishing eighth. Anna Maria Jopek
Anna Maria Jopek (born 14 December 1970) is a Polish vocalist, songwriter, and improviser. She represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997, 1997 Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "Ale jestem" and finished 11th out of 25 participating acts; and in 2002, she collaborated on an album with jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. She has received numerous awards for her music, including Michel Legrand's Personal Award in Vitebsk in 1994, as well as all of the awards for music in Poland, together with gold and platinum records. Biography She is the daughter of Mazowsze (folk group), Mazowsze singer Stanisław Jopek (1935–2006), known as the "First Coachman of Poland" for his signature song "Furman" (The Coachman), and former Mazowsze dancer Maria Stankiewicz. Poland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "", written by Łukasz Lazer, Michał Szymański, and Ivan Komarenko, and performed by Ivan and Delfin. The Polish participating broadcaster, (TVP), announced in December 2004 that it would internally select its entry for the 2005 contest. Poland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Love Song", composed by Paweł Rurak-Sokal, with lyrics by Tatiana Okupnik, and performed by the band Blue Café. The Polish participating broadcaster, (TVP), organised the national final in order to select its entry for the contest. The national final took place on 24 January 2004 and featured fifteen entries. The Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Varius Manx are a Polish pop group, formed in Łódź in 1989 by composer Robert Janson. The name is a variation on the English word "various" plus Manx, the variety of cat. The band have sold more than 2 million albums in their native Poland.
