is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Trøndelag Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Dovre region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the Oppdal (village), village of Oppdal. Other villages in the municipality include Lønset, Vognillan, Fagerhaugen, and Driva, Trøndelag, Holan. The Oppdal Airport, Fagerhaug is located in the northeastern part of the municipality. The municipality is the 24th largest by area out of the 357 municipalities in Norway. (locally: ''Auna'') is the administrative centre of Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located at the junction of the European route E06 and the Norwegian National Road 70. The villages of Vognillan, Fagerhaugen, and Driva are all located around Oppdal to the west, north, and south respectively. The village has a population (2024) of 4,637 which gives the village a population density of . Oppdal Station
Oppdal Station () is a railway station located in downtown Oppdal in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It sits close to the European route E06 highway, just northwest of the mountain Allmannberget. The village of Oppdal is dominated by mountain tourism and skiing in winter. The station is located along the Dovre Line, and it is served by four daily express trains going in each direction to Oslo and Trondheim. It is also served by a few daily Trøndelag Commuter Rail to Trondheim. The station was opened in 1921 as part of the Dovre Line when it was extended from Dombås to Trondheim. Hotel When building the Dovre Line, Norsk Spisevognselskap planned to build a tourist hotel at one of the stations. When the station opened on 20 September 1921, Norsk Spisevognselskap started operations of a station restaurant in the station building. Oppdal Church
Oppdal Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located at the Vang farm, near Norwegian National Road 70, just west of the village of Oppdal. It is the main church for the Oppdal parish which is part of the Gauldal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1651 using plans drawn up by the architects Ole Jonsen Hindrum and Nils Olsen. The church seats about 450 people. The church is sometimes nicknamed ''"Marit på Vang"''. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1297, but it was not new that year. The first church at Oppdal was a stave church that was likely built during the 12th century on the same site as the present church. Oppdal Ski Center () is a ski resort located on the north side of the village of Oppdal in Oppdal Municipality, Trøndelag county, Norway. The ski resort is Norway's largest in terms of area, and with a total of 18 lifts and 39 slopes, it is among Norway's largest ski resorts.
