Northfield, Aberdeen
Northfield is an area of Aberdeen, Scotland. It has a community council, swimming pool, medical practice and a police office. The Aberdeen Treasure Hub art gallery in the area was opened in November 2016. Education There are four primary schools: Westpark School, Bramble Brae School, Heathryburn School and Manor Park School. Secondary age pupils go to Northfield Academy. Swimming pool Northfield Swimming Pool is a council-owned facility with a 25-metre pool. It was opened in 1996. It closed in March 2018 due to an equipment failure. Later that year, the council announced that the pool would be refurbished and expanded, and would reopen in summer 2021. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom, COVID-19 pandemic, the reopening was postponed to summer 2022. In early 2024, the pool was temporarily closed due to a young girl passing away, as a result of getting into difficulty in the water. References

Northfield (CDP), Vermont
Northfield is the central village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Northfield, Washington County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 3,757, out of 5,918 in the entire town. The former village of Northfield merged with the surrounding town of Northfield in 2014; the current CDP includes the former village as well as the unincorporated villages of Northfield Center and South Northfield. The CDP is in southern Washington County, in the central part of the town of Northfield, in the valley of the Dog River, a north-flowing tributary of the Winooski River. Northfield Laboratories Inc. (former NASDAQ: NFLD) was the maker of PolyHeme, a hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier (HBOC). The company was based in Evanston, Illinois, with Dr. Steven A. Gould as its chief executive officer. As of May 31, 2005, the company had 68 employees. It was founded in 1985 and has since been a mainly research and development company. Northfield's only product was PolyHeme, an oxygen-carrying blood substitute, which failed to receive Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory approval. On May 9, 2009, after being informed by the FDA the product's risks outweighed the benefits, the company shut down operations. Northfield is a suburb of the greater Adelaide, South Australia area. History The earliest known record of the name "Northfield" being used in reference to the area is 1852. This was a newspaper entry in the ''South Australia Register'' 4 October 1852 on the marriage notice of John Lewis to Harriet Ricketts of Northfield. Northfield was known as "Northfield, Dry Creek" as early as 1855 and the Free Labour stone quarry worked by Convicts at that time was later to become the Prison Quarry.
