Mudvayne is an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Peoria, Illinois, Peoria, Illinois, in 1996. Known for their sonic experimentation, face and body paint, masks and uniforms, the band has sold over five million records worldwide. The group consists of lead guitarist Greg Tribbett, drummer Matthew McDonough, lead vocalist Chad Gray, bassist Ryan Martinie and live rhythm guitarist Marcus Rafferty. The band became popular in the late-1990s Peoria underground music scene, and they found success with the single "Dig (Mudvayne song), Dig" from their debut album ''L.D. 50 (album), L.D. 50'' (2000). Matthew McDonough
Matthew McDonough (born March 12, 1969) is an American drummer best known as a member of the heavy metal band Mudvayne. He is the band's original drummer and has appeared and performed on every release by Mudvayne. He was also the original drummer of Audiotopsy since 2015 until his departure in 2021. He holds a respected place in the world of drumming for his signature drumming style. Early life McDonough was born in Rockford, Illinois, he attended Rockford East High School and was a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. He was previously in a band called ''On the Shoulders of Giants''; as well as a band called Daed Kcis. He also lived in Washington, IL and went to Washington Community High School. Greg Tribbett
Gregory Arnold Tribbett Jr. (born November 7, 1968) is an American guitarist who is one of the founding members, lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the metal band Mudvayne. He is also the former lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the metal bands Audiotopsy and Hellyeah. He's been with Mudvayne from their inception in 1996 until their dissolution in 2010, and again from 2021 to now. He has named Randy Rhoads as the guitarist who most influenced him. Chad Gray
Chad Gray (born October 16, 1971) is an American singer, best known as the lead vocalist of heavy metal bands Mudvayne and Hellyeah. Career Mudvayne Gray quit his factory job that paid $40,000 a year to move to Peoria, Illinois and formed Mudvayne. The band's first album, '' L.D. 50'', was released in 2000 to unexpected success, selling over half a million copies within a year of its release. Ryan Martinie
Ryan Daniel Martinie (born August 6, 1975) is an American musician, best known as the bassist for heavy metal band Mudvayne. Career Mudvayne In 1996, Mudvayne was formed. They initially had a different bass player, Shawn Allen (Barclay was a joke name for insiders). In 1997, still with Shawn as their bass player, Mudvayne released their first EP, ''Kill, I Oughta''. The band released five studio albums in their career, and remained active until 2010 when they went on an indefinite hiatus. Mudvayne announced in April 2021 that they were reuniting for their first shows in more than a decade and possibly new music. Kill, I Oughtta
''Kill, I Oughtta '' is the debut extended play of American heavy metal band Mudvayne. It was self-released by the band in 1997. In 2001, the EP was reissued by Epic Records under the title ''The Beginning of All Things to End''. The reissue featured, as additional tracks, remixes of " Dig", and "L.D. 50", a 17-minute sound collage which originally appeared as interludes on that album. It is the only release by Mudvayne to have any participation from original bassist Shawn Barclay. Music and lyrics According to Matthew McDonough, the EP was "thrown together" for the band's fans. It consists of five studio tracks originally intended for a demo, and three live tracks. No studio versions exist for the three live tracks "I.D.I.O.T.", "Central Disposal" and "Coal". Dig (Mudvayne Song)
"Dig" is a song by American heavy metal band Mudvayne, released in 2000 as the band's debut single. It appears on the band's debut studio album '' L.D. 50'' (2000). A music video was released for the song on April 10, 2001, and it later won the first ever MTV2 Award. It is also one of the band's most well-known songs, being certified gold in the United States. Hellyeah
Hellyeah, stylized as HELLYEAH, was an American heavy metal supergroup formed in Dallas, Texas, in 2006. The band's last lineup consisted of lead vocalist Chad Gray, guitarists Christian Brady and Tom Maxwell, bassist Kyle Sanders, and drummer Roy Mayorga. The idea to form a supergroup originated in 2000 on the Tattoo the Earth tour, although plans were constantly put on hold due to scheduling conflicts. The summer of 2006 allowed the band to take the project seriously and record its first album. Recorded at Chasin' Jason studio in Dimebag Darrell's backyard, their self-titled album entered the ''Billboard'' 200 at number 9, selling 45,000 copies. "Death Blooms" is a song by American heavy metal band Mudvayne and the second single from their debut album, '' L.D. 50''. Background and meaning The song was written by lead singer Chad Gray about his grandmother and how she was being neglected by her family because she was getting old and nobody cared when she had an illness except Chad. She was also taking Chad to local choirs where he learned to sing. Betty Rae, Chad's grandma, died in 2005. Its current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Billy Keeton, lead guitarist James Vinson, bassist Perry Stern, and drummer Trevor Bodkins. Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, (born ), is a Canadian record producer and sound engineer. He is the son of music producer Jack Richardson. He has worked with such musical acts as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motley Crüe, Nickelback, Rage Against the Machine, L7, Mudvayne, Melvins, Biffy Clyro, Kittie, Shihad, 54-40, Hedley, and Rise Against.
