Lemvig Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Midtjylland on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 516.63 km2, and has a population of 18,800 (2025). Its mayor is Erik Flyvholm, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Lemvig. The town has a population of 6,966. Lemvig Railway Line
The Lemvig Line ( or ''Vemb-Lemvig-Thyborøn Jernbane'' (''VLTJ'')) is a local railway line in Northwest Jutland, Denmark. Established in 1879, the line extends from Vemb via Lemvig to Thyborøn. The single-track line is mostly level, and is operated with a fleet of five double-unit Y-train railcars. VLTJ has its own workshop and servicing facilities on the line. Central Denmark Region
The Central Denmark Region (), or more directly translated as the Central Jutland Region and sometimes simply Mid-Jutland, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform. The reform abolished the traditional counties (''amter'') and replaced them with five new administrative regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the total number of municipalities from 271 to 98. Until 1 January 2007 Thyborøn-Harboøre was a municipality (Danish language, Danish, ''Commune (subnational entity), kommune'') in the former Ringkjøbing County on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. Limfjord
The Limfjord ( common Danish: ''Limfjorden'' , in northwest Jutlandish dialect: ''Æ Limfjord'') is a shallow part of the sea, located in Denmark where it has been regarded as an inlet ever since Viking times. However, it now has entries both from the North Sea and Kattegat, and hence separates the North Jutlandic Island (Danish: ''Nørrejyske Ø'', which includes the old provinces of ''Vendsyssel'', ''Han herred'' and ''Thy'') from the rest of the Jutland Peninsula. Ringkjøbing County () is a former county ( Danish: '' amt'') on the Jutland peninsula in western Denmark. It had the lowest population density of all the Danish counties. North Jutlandic Island
The North Jutlandic Island (), Vendsyssel-Thy, or Jutland north of the Limfjord (''Jylland nord for Limfjorden'') is the northernmost part of continental Denmark and of Jutland. It is more common to refer to the three traditional districts of Vendsyssel, Hanherred, and Thy. The area has been intermittently a tied island and, during modern times, was not surrounded by water until a storm in February 1825, which severed the region from the remainder of Jutland and created a water connection between the North Sea and the western end of the Limfjord. Nissum Bredning
Nissum Bredning is the westernmost '' bredning'' in the Limfjord situated between Thyborøn Channel, through which the fjord is connected to the North Sea, and Oddesund with Oddesund Bridge. Its size is around 200 km2 and the depth is up to 6 meters. The length from east to west is about 24 km, and from south ''Gjeller Odde'' to the north ''Røjensø Odde'' is about 10 kilometer; from here it continues as to the north. To the west, at Thyborøn and , there are some sandbanks, ''Fjordgrund'' and ''Gåseholm''.
