The Japan Masters is an annual badminton tournament held in Japan. It became part of the BWF World Tour tournaments in 2023 BWF World Tour, 2023. Badminton World Federation, BWF categorised Japan Masters as one of the nine BWF World Tour#Tournaments, BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2023 BWF World Tour, 2023. On 18 April 2022, the city of Kumamoto was confirmed to be the host of this tournament for the 2023–2026 BWF World Tour cycle. Dechapol Puavaranukroh (; born 20 May 1997) is a Thai badminton player. He was a gold medalist at the 2014 BWF World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event with his partner Kittinupong Kedren. Dechapol claimed doubles titles at the Badminton at the 2017 SEA Games, 2017 SEA Games by winning the gold medal in the men's doubles with Kedren and in the mixed doubles with Sapsiree Taerattanachai. Badminton World Federation
The Badminton World Federation, aka BWF, is the international governing body for the sport of badminton approved by the International Olympic Committee. It was founded on 5 July 1934 as the International Badminton Federation with nine member nations: Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. In 1981, the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation. 2023 BWF World Tour
The 2023 BWF World Tour (officially known as 2023 HSBC BWF World Tour for sponsorship reasons), was the sixth season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 30 tournaments that lead up to the World Tour Finals tournament. The 31 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1 is the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000 (4 tournaments), Level 3 called Super 750 (6 tournaments), Level 4 called Super 500 (9 tournaments) and Level 5 called Super 300 (11 tournaments). Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool are offered at the Super 1000 level (including the World Tour Finals). One other category of the tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 (level 6), also offers BWF World Tour ranking points. BWF World Tour
The BWF World Tour is a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). Huang Yaqiong
Huang Yaqiong (, born 28 February 1994) is a Chinese badminton player who specializes in doubles. She is an Olympic gold medalist, three-time World Champion, two-time Asian Games gold medalist, and two-time Asian Champion. She also won a silver medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Huang reached a career-high of world number 1 in the mixed doubles event with Zheng Siwei. Huang won the prestigious All England Open in 2017 partnered with Lu Kai, and in 2019 with Zheng Siwei. Zheng Siwei
Zheng Siwei (; born 26 February 1997) is a Chinese badminton player specializing in doubles. He is an Olympic gold medalist, a three-time World Champion and two-time Asian Games gold medalist in the mixed doubles with his current partner Huang Yaqiong. He helped the national team clinch the 2018 Thomas Cup and also 2019 and 2023 Sudirman Cups.
