J-1 Visa
A J-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa (document), visa issued by the United States to research scholars, professors and exchange visitors participating in programs that promote cultural exchange, especially to obtain medical or business training within the U.S. All applicants must meet eligibility criteria, English language requirements, and be sponsored either by a university, private sector or government program. J-1 visa holders must usually return home for two years following visa expiration so they impart cultural knowledge learned in the United States. In 2022, the State Department issued 284,486 J-1 visas, with a visa approval rate of 88.8%. Between 2001 and 2021, there were 6,178,355 J-1 visas issued by the State Department. In 2023, there were 4,209 J-1 visa sponsors. Certain J-1 categories saw increased percentage increase in visas between 2021 and 2022. For example, The J-1 Visa for Summer Work/Travel increased 134% from 39,647 to 92,619. J-1 Teachers increased 467% from ...

Equilateral Square Pyramid
In geometry, a square pyramid is a pyramid with a square base and four triangles, having a total of five faces. If the apex of the pyramid is directly above the center of the square, it is a ''right square pyramid'' with four isosceles triangles; otherwise, it is an ''oblique square pyramid''. When all of the pyramid's edges are equal in length, its triangles are all equilateral. It is called an ''equilateral square pyramid'', an example of a Johnson solid. Square pyramids have appeared throughout the history of architecture, with examples being Egyptian pyramids and many other similar buildings. They also occur in chemistry in square pyramidal molecular structures. Square pyramids are often used in the construction of other polyhedra. Many mathematicians in ancient times discovered the formula for the volume of a square pyramid with different approaches. Special cases Right square pyramid A square pyramid has five vertices, eight edges, and five faces. One face, called t ...

Sinusitis
Sinusitis, also known as rhinosinusitis, is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the sinuses resulting in symptoms that may include production of thick nasal mucus, nasal congestion, facial congestion, facial pain, facial pressure, loss of smell, or fever. Sinusitis is a condition that affects both children and adults. It is caused by a combination of environmental and a person's individual health factors. It can occur in individuals with allergies, exposure to environmental irritants, structural abnormalities of the nasal cavity and sinuses and poor immune function. Most cases are caused by a viral infection. Recurrent episodes are more likely in persons with asthma, cystic fibrosis, and immunodeficiency. The diagnosis of sinusitis is based on the symptoms and their duration along with signs of disease identified by endoscopic and/or radiologic criteria. Sinusitis is classified into acute sinusitis, subacute sinusitis and chronic sinusitis. In acute sinusit ...

Bessel Function
Bessel functions, named after Friedrich Bessel who was the first to systematically study them in 1824, are canonical solutions of Bessel's differential equation x^2 \frac + x \frac + \left(x^2 - \alpha^2 \right)y = 0 for an arbitrary complex number \alpha, which represents the ''order'' of the Bessel function. Although \alpha and -\alpha produce the same differential equation, it is conventional to define different Bessel functions for these two values in such a way that the Bessel functions are mostly smooth functions of \alpha. The most important cases are when \alpha is an integer or half-integer. Bessel functions for integer \alpha are also known as cylinder functions or the cylindrical harmonics because they appear in the solution to Laplace's equation in cylindrical coordinates. Spherical Bessel functions with half-integer \alpha are obtained when solving the Helmholtz equation in spherical coordinates. Applications Bessel's equation arises when finding separa ...

S/2003 J 1
Eukelade , also known as , is a retrograde irregular satellite of Jupiter. It was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii led by Scott S. Sheppard in 2003, and received the temporary designation . Eukelade is about 4 kilometres in diameter, and orbits Jupiter at an average distance of 23,484,000 km in 693.02 days, at an inclination of 164° to the ecliptic (165° to Jupiter's equator), in a retrograde direction and with an eccentricity of 0.2829. It was named in March 2005 after Eucelade - according to John Tzetzes, listed by some (unnamed) Greek writers as one of the Muses.* Marta Cardin, Olga Tribulato: ''Enumerating the Muses: Tzetzes in Hes. Op. 1 and the Parody of Catalogic Poetry in Epicharmus.'' In: Marco Ercoles, Lara Pagani, Filippomaria Pontani, Giuseppe Ucciardello: ''Approaches to Greek Poetry: Homer, Hesiod, Pindar, and Aeschylus in Ancient Exegesis'' (= ''Trends in Classics.'' Janko Group J1
In the area of modern algebra known as group theory, the Janko group ''J1'' is a sporadic simple group of Order (group theory), order :   175,560 = 233571119 : ≈ 2. History ''J1'' is one of the 26 sporadic groups and was originally described by Zvonimir Janko in 1965. It is the only Janko group whose existence was proved by Janko himself and was the first sporadic group to be found since the discovery of the Mathieu groups in the 19th century. Its discovery launched the modern theory of sporadic groups. In 1986 Robert Arnott Wilson, Robert A. Wilson showed that ''J1'' cannot be a subgroup of the monster group. Thus it is one of the 6 sporadic groups called the pariah group, pariahs. Properties The smallest faithful complex representation of ''J1'' has dimension 56. ''J1'' can be characterized abstractly as the unique simple group with abelian Sylow theorems, 2-Sylow subgroups and with an Involution (mathematics), involution whose centralizer is isomorphic ...

Haplogroup J1 (Y-DNA)
Haplogroup J-M267, also commonly known as Haplogroup J1, is a subclade (branch) of Y-DNA haplogroup J-P209 (commonly known as haplogroup J) along with its sibling clade haplogroup J-M172 (commonly known as haplogroup J2). (All these haplogroups have had other historical names listed below.) Currently, the oldest J-M267 sample was found in a Caucasus Hunter-Gatherer from Satsurblia cave, Georgia. Men from this lineage share a common paternal ancestor, which is demonstrated and defined by the presence of the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) mutation referred to as M267, which was announced in . This haplogroup is found today in significant frequencies in many areas in or near the Arabian Peninsula and Western Asia. Out of its native Asian Continent, it is found at very high frequencies in Sudan. It is also found at very high but lesser extent in parts of the Caucasus, Ethiopia and parts of North Africa and amongst most Levant peoples, including Jewish groups, e ...
