Ittihad Tanger
Ittihad Riadi Tanger (; ), often shortened to IR Tanger or the abbreviation IRT, is a Moroccan football club based in Tangier, that competes in Botola, Morocco's top professional football league. The club was founded in 1936 as Unión Deportiva España de Tánger (UDET); After the History of Morocco#Independent Morocco (since 1956), independence of Morocco in 1956, the club changed was renamed to Unión Deportiva de Tánger (UDT). In 1983, several local football clubs were merged into UDT, and Ittihad Riadi Tanger was formed. IR Tanger's Home (sports), home games are hosted at Ibn Batouta Stadium. The Ibn Batouta Stadium or Grand stade of Tangier (; Berber languages: ⴰⵏⵏⴰⵔ ⵏ ⵉⴱⵏ ⴱⴰⵜⵓⵜⴰ) is a multi-use stadium in Tangier, Morocco. It is used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and big events such as ceremonies or concerts. The stadium now has a legal capacity of 65,000 after renovation construction finished for hosting the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup. It serves as the new home of IR Tanger, replacing the former Stade de Marchan. The stadium is named after the Moroccan scholar and explorer Ibn Battuta. Noussair El Maimouni (born February 20, 1991) is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Club career Moghreb Tétouan (2010–17) Born in Tétouan, El Maimouni started his professional career in 2010 with local Moghreb Tétouan. The 2015–16 Botola, also known as Botola Maroc Telecom for sponsorship reasons, is the 59th season of the Premier League, the top Moroccan professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1915.
