Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (English: Indian People's Front), abbreviated HAM(S), is an Political parties in India, Indian political party with a presence in Bihar. In Bihar, this party is also a natural Allies of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) similar to Janata Dal (United). It received a new election symbol, the wok, for the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Bihar Assembly election in 2020. Formation It was launched formally on 8 May 2015 by former Chief Minister of Bihar, Jitan Ram Manjhi, who left the Janata Dal (United) party along with 18 others to form Hindustani Awam Morcha following the 2015 Bihar political crisis. The party added "Secular" to its name in June 2015, becoming Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular). Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman (born 10 February 1975) is an Indian politician from Bihar. He currently serves as Minister of Information Technology, Disaster Management, and Minor water resources in the Government of Bihar and is a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM). Santosh Kumar Suman was Minister of Minor Irrigation and SC/ST Welfare in the Government of Bihar in the Seventh Nitish Kumar ministry from 16 November 2020 to 9 August 2022. Also, he was Minister of SC/ST Welfare in the Government of Bihar in the Eighth Nitish Kumar ministry from 16 August 2022 to 13 June 2023. 2015 Bihar Political Crisis
There was a political crisis in Bihar state of India during February 2015 over the post of the Chief Minister of Bihar. Incumbent Chief minister, Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi did not vacate the post for former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who wanted to return, resulting in a split in the political party, JD(U). After days, the Governor asked Manjhi to prove majority in house by trust vote. Manjhi quit the post on day of vote and later Nitish Kumar took oath as chief minister again on 22 February 2015 ending the crisis. Background Narendra Modi, then chief minister of Gujarat state, and Nitish Kumar, then chief minister of Bihar state of India had a political rivalry. Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar (born 1 March 1951) is an Indian politician who has been serving as the 22nd chief minister of Bihar since 22 February 2015, having previously held the office from 2005 to 2014 and for a short period in 2000. He is Bihar's longest serving chief minister whilst also holding the post for his 9th term. He is the leader of the Janata Dal (United). The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP, ) was a state political party mainly based in the state of Bihar, India. The party was formed in 2000 when Ram Vilas Paswan split from Janata Dal.
