Heavenly (British Band)
Heavenly are a twee pop band, originally forming in Oxford, England in 1989. Amelia Fletcher (vocals/guitar), Mathew Fletcher (drums; Amelia's brother), Peter Momtchiloff (guitar) and Robert Pursey (bass) were all previously members of Talulah Gosh, a key member of the C86 (music), C86 scene. ''Heavenly vs. Satan'', the group's debut album, came out in 1991. At this stage in their career, the instrumentation remained very much the same jangly guitar style used by Talulah Gosh. Before releasing the critically acclaimed ''Le Jardin de Heavenly'', Cathy Rogers (keyboard, back-up vocals) joined the band. Her harmony vocals and keyboards became an integral part of the group's sound. The group's second album also features the track "C is the Heavenly Option," featuring the guest vocals of K Records founder Calvin Johnson (mu ...

Heavenly (French Band)
Heavenly is a French power metal band based in Marseille that was formed in 1993 in Paris by vocalist Benjamin Sotto and drummer Max Pilo, originally as a cover band under the name of Satan's Lawyer. In 1994, they changed their name to "Heavenly" and evolved into a full-fledged Helloween-influenced power metal outfit. In 1998, they released a three-track demo with new guitarist Anthony Parker. However, Parker's time with the band was to be short lived, leaving before a record deal with Noise Records was clinched. Heavenly then found a replacement in Chris Savourey and completed their lineup with bassist Laurent Jean. The band was signed on Noise Records in 1999.AllMusic

Heavenly (Johnny Mathis Album)
''Heavenly'' is an album by American pop singer Johnny Mathis that was released on August 10, 1959, by Columbia Records and marked his return to recording ballads with orchestral accompaniment. Along with the material that others had covered before are two new songs: the title track and "I'll Be Easy to Find". The album debuted on ''Billboard'' magazine's album chart in the September 21, 1959, issue to begin a run of 295 weeks, five of which were spent at number one. The US version of ''Heavenly'' received Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of 500,000 copies in the US on December 4, 1962, and Platinum certification for one million in sales was awarded on November 21, 1986. Cry (Cigarettes After Sex Album)
''Cry'' is the second studio album by American ambient pop band Cigarettes After Sex, released through Partisan Records on October 25, 2019. It was preceded by the single "Heavenly". Background Frontman Greg Gonzalez said: "We made 'Cry''to just be a snapshot of a moment, to capture the feeling of something. And it's flawed, but the fact that it's flawed means that it's an honest portrayal. And that's what is perfect about it to me." Gonzalez also remarked that he views the album as a "film" as it was "shot in this stunning, exotic location Mallorca, and it stitches all these different characters and scenes together, but in the end is really about romance, beauty & sexuality." Elaborating on the band's style, Gonzalez said that after experiencing heartbreak, the music he needed was "very gentle" and "very peaceful, because internally I was going through such turmoil. The music that I make became a reaction to the life that happened." Gonzalez wrote "Falling in Love" over two y ...

Welcome To The Monkey House (album)
''Welcome to the Monkey House'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band The Dandy Warhols. The album was recorded between September 2001 and December 2002, and released on May 5, 2003 through record label Capitol. The album was originally mixed by Grammy Award-winning soul music engineer Russell Elevado, but Capitol Records were unhappy with releasing it, instead opting for a more polished, synthpop-influenced mix by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran. The original mix of the album was later released as '' The Dandy Warhols Are Sound'' in 2009. The album's lead single "We Used to Be Friends" was the theme song to the popular TV series ''Veronica Mars'' as well as its subsequent film adaptation. Two further singles were released from the album: " You Were the Last High" and " Plan A". Background and recording ''Welcome to the Monkey House'' was recorded between studios in Portland, Oregon, London and New York between September 11, 2001 and December 2, 2002. The album fea ...

1990 (The Temptations Album)
''1990'' is a 1973 album by The Temptations for the Gordy (Motown) label, their final LP written and produced by Norman Whitfield. Music and lyrics The LP was the center of a number of problems. The Temptations were dissatisfied with Whitfield's socially conscious message tracks, which were by now failing commercially, and desired to get back to singing ballads. Whitfield relented some here, placing message tracks such as "1990" and "Ain't No Justice" alongside love songs such as "Heavenly" and "You've Got My Soul on Fire". Release and promotion The album's first single, the Rose Royce-backed and Dennis Edwards-led funk track " Let Your Hair Down", was its only Top 40 hit. The ballad "Heavenly", sung by Richard Street and Damon Harris, was caught in the center of a disc jockey boycott against Motown. A Motown executive did not thank the United States' DJs while accepting an award for the Temptations at the 1974 American Music Awards, and, as a result, the DJs refused to play ...

Heavenly Planet
Heavenly Planet was a planned music festival in Reading, Berkshire, England. The festival was expected to have a capacity of 15,000 and have at least three stages — two all-weather outdoor stages and potentially one indoor arena within the adjacent Rivermead Leisure Centre. On 17 March 2009, Live Nation and Festival Republic issued a press release announcing the cancellation of the festival "due to the effect of the current economic climate". History Since the WOMAD festival ceased to operate in Reading in 2006, Heavenly Planet was scheduled to take place on the same site as both WOMAD and the Reading Festival. Situated north-west of the town centre, the Little John's Farm site (near Caversham Bridge) was developed by Reading Festival organiser Melvin Benn, WOMAD's former artistic director Thomas Brooman CBE and Reading Borough Council.
