Hadsel Municipality
Hadsel () is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Nordland Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Districts of Norway, traditional district of Vesterålen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Stokmarknes. Some of the main villages in Hadsel include Fiskebøl, Jarstad, Grønning, Grytting, Hanøyvika, Hennes, Norway, Hennes, Kaldjorda, Melbu, Sanden, Nordland, Sanden, and Sandnes, Nordland, Sandnes. The municipality is the southernmost municipality in the Vesterålen region. It is spread over several main islands: Hadseløya, Børøya, Hinnøya, Langøya, and Austvågøya. About 70% of the population live on Hadseløya island. Hadseløya island is connected to Langøya by the Hadsel Bridge and Børøy Bridge. Also, the Stokmarknes Airport, Skagen, is located nearby. Hadsel Church
Hadsel Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Hadsel Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Hadsel, just east of the town of Stokmarknes on the island of Hadseløya. It is one of the churches for the Hadsel parish which is part of the Vesterålen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The red, wooden church was built in an octagonal style in 1824 by an unknown architect. The church seats about 500 people. History The earliest mention of this church in existing historical records was in 1381, but there are additional records that talk about the priest of Hadsel dating back to 1321. Not much is known about the church before the 1600s, but in 1639 an old church was demolished and a new log building in a cruciform design was built on the same location. Hadseløya
or is an island in Hadsel Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Vesterålen region on the north side of the Hadselfjorden. The town of Stokmarknes is situated on the northern shore of the island and the village of Melbu is on the southern coast. The island has an area of . The tall mountain Lamlitinden is the highest point on the island. Hadseløya is connected to the neighboring islands of Langøya and Børøya by the Hadsel Bridge. There is also a ferry connection from the village of Melbu to the village of Fiskebøl on Austvågøya island to the south. Hadsel Bridge
The Hadsel Bridge () is a cantilever road bridge in Hadsel Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The bridge carries Norwegian County Road 82 and it crosses the Langøysundet strait between the islands of Langøya and Børøya. Together with the Børøy Bridge it connects the island of Hadseløya and the town of Stokmarknes to the neighboring island of Langøya. The Hadsel Bridge is long, the main span is , and the maximum clearance to the sea is . The bridge has a total of 27 spans. The Hadsel Bridge was opened in 1978. It was one of 4 bridges that were built in the 1970s to connect the islands of Vesterålen to each other.
