Fader (audio Engineering)
In audio engineering, a fade is a gradual increase or decrease in the level of an audio signal. The term can also be used for film cinematography or theatre lighting in much the same way (see fade (filmmaking) and fade (lighting)). In sound recording and reproduction a song may be gradually reduced to silence at its end (fade-out), or may gradually increase from silence at the beginning (fade-in). Fading-out can serve as a recording solution for pieces of music that contain no obvious ending. Quick fade-ins and -outs can also be used to change the characteristics of a sound, such as to soften the Envelope (music)#ADSR, attack in vocal plosives and percussion sounds. Turntablism, Professional turntablists and DJs in hip hop music use faders on a DJ mixer, notably the horizontal #Crossfading, crossfader, in a rapid fashion while simultaneously manipulating two or more phonograph, record players (or other sound sources) to create ''scratching'' and develop beats. "Fader" is the third single from the Australian indie rock band The Temper Trap from their debut album '' Conditions''. The single was first released in Australia in July 2009, where it peaked at No. 85, marking the single highest and currently only placement in the Charts. It was also voted in at No. 21 in the 2009 Triple J Hottest 100. The single was released digitally in the UK on 4 January 2010 where it peaked at number 76 on the UK Singles Chart later that week. The song was featured in the 2010 Australian film '' Tomorrow, When the War Began'' and in the 2011 films ''The Roommate'' and ''Chalet Girl''. The Faders
The Faders were a British female pop rock band, formed in January 2004 by Polydor Records. Bassist and keyboardist Toy Valentine and drummer Cherisse Osei were the first members to get through the first audition. Frontwoman and lead guitarist, Molly Lorenne (daughter of Midge Ure and Annabel Giles), was later introduced to the band by a mutual friend, completing the lineup. ''Believe in Nothing'' is the eighth studio album by British metal band Paradise Lost, released on 26 February 2001. Release The release for the album was postponed with the first release date being 18 September 2000, before settling to its current date. The band released commented on the reason for the delay stating: Style, artwork, and reception It is one of the last albums in the much lighter sound which characterised the band's sound since '' One Second'' and that may have been contributed when composer Gregor Mackintosh stated that "doesn't really exist for him", as it was an album in which the band was out of creative control; the album went under strict instructions from the label.
