FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives
The FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives is a most wanted list maintained by the United States's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The list arose from a conversation held in late 1949 between J. Edgar Hoover, Director of the FBI, and William Kinsey Hutchinson, International News Service (the predecessor of the United Press International) editor-in-chief, who were discussing ways to promote capture of the FBI's "toughest guys". This discussion turned into a published article, which received so much positive publicity that on March 14, 1950, the FBI officially announced the list to increase law enforcement's ability to capture dangerous fugitives. The first person added to the list was Thomas J. Holden, a robber and member of the Holden–Keating Gang on the day of the list's inception. Leslie Isben Rogge
Leslie Isben Rogge (born March 8, 1940) is an American bank robber who was the first criminal on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives to be apprehended due to the internet. Biography Rogge was born in Seattle, Washington on March 8, 1940. Rogge was imprisoned at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas, during the 1970s for car theft and grand larceny. He was later convicted and sentenced to 25 years for a 1984 bank robbery in Key Largo, Florida. In September 1985, he bribed a corrections officer and escaped from prison in Moscow, Idaho. Following his escape, he went on to commit additional bank robberies, including one at an Exchange Bank branch in El Dorado, Arkansas, and at a bank in High Point, North Carolina, in 1986. On January 24, 1990, Rogge became the 430th Fugitive to be added to the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, where he remained for the next six years. A bounty is a payment or Reward system, reward of money to locate, capture or kill an outlaw or a Fugitive, wanted person. Donald Francis Cawley (September 14, 1929 – September 21, 1990) was an American law enforcement officer who served as New York City Police Commissioner from May to December 1973. Early life Cawley was born on September 14, 1929, in Woodside, Queens. He studied engineering at Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn but dropped out due to a lack of money. Twymon Ford Myers (also spelled Meyers; November 27, 1950 – November 14, 1973) was an American member of the Black Liberation Army who was killed in a shootout with police in November 1973.
