Etsu Nupe
The Bida Emirate is a traditional state in Nigeria, a successor to the old Nupe Kingdom, with its headquarters in Bida, Niger State. The head of the emirate is the ''Etsu Nupe'', who is the leader of the Nupe people. History The old Nupe Kingdom was established in the middle of the 15th century in a basin between the Niger and Kaduna rivers in what is now central Nigeria. Early history is mostly based on verbally-transmitted legends. King Jibiri, who reigned around 1770, was the first Nupe king to become Muslim. Etsu Ma’azu brought the kingdom to its period of greatest power, before dying in 1818. During that period, the Fulani were gaining power across Northern Nigeria. Tsoede, also known as Tsuedigi, Tsade or Edegi(c. 1496 – c.1591) is a legendary African leader. Umaru Sanda Ndayako
Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Sanda Ndayako (CFR, OFR), (1937 – 8 September, 2003) was the 12th Etsu Nupe from one of the ruling houses of Bida. His parents were Muhammadu Ndayako (CBE), the late 9th Etsu Nupe and Aisha Nuadoro. Background education Ndayako started elementary school at Elementary School Bida in 1945 and went to Ilorin for middle school in 1949, finishing in 1951. He obtained his high school certificate at the prestigious Government College Zaria (now Barewa College Zaria) where he graduated in 1956, and then he attended Nigeria College of Art Science and Technology Zaria in 1957. He later proceeded to University College Ibadan (now University of Ibadan) and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in 1962. Musa Bello
Musa Bello (1919–1975) was the 11th Bida Emirate, Etsu Nupe in Nupe kingdom reigns from 1967 to his death in 1975 and was succeeded by the 12th Etsu Nupe Umaru Sanda Ndayako. Background his father was the seventh Etsu Nupe Bello dan Maliki, Bello Maliki. He had his entire education in Bida Emirate and later he became the head district of Badeggi in 1965 and Katcha, Nigeria, Katcha before then he worked at Kaduna State, Kaduna contractor company. Usman Sarki
Usman Sarki dan Malam Saidu MP, CFR (b. 1920 - 1984) was the Federal Minister of Interior from 1959 to 1962 succeeded J. M. Johnson and served as the 10th Etsu Nupe from 1962 to 1969 succeeding the 9th Etsu Nupe Muhammadu Ndayako. He was succeeded by his cousin, the 11th Etsu Nupe Musa Bello. Muhammadu Ndayako CMG CBE (1884–1962), popularly known as ''Baba Kudu'', is the 9th Etsu Nupe, from 1935 till his death in 1962. Background He was born into 3rd Bida ruling house of Umaru Majigi. Bello Dan Maliki
Bello Dan Maliki (1887 – 1926) was the 8th Etsu Nupe ''King of Nupe''. His reign lasted from 1916 to 1926. In 1918, he was the first monarch to have bought a car. At the time roads were not constructed in Bida, and the whole community of Nigeria and the emirate benefited from the car. Maliki
The Maliki school or Malikism is one of the four major madhhab, schools of Islamic jurisprudence within Sunni Islam. It was founded by Malik ibn Anas () in the 8th century. In contrast to the Ahl al-Hadith and Ahl al-Ra'y schools of thought, the Maliki school takes a unique position known as ''Ahl al-Amal'', in which they consider the Sunnah to be primarily sourced from the practice of the people of Medina and Urf, living Islamic traditions for their rulings on Sharia, Islamic law.
