Adam Kidd Drucker (born April 21, 1977), better known by his stage name Doseone, is an American rapper, producer, poet and artist. He is a co-founder of the indie hip hop record label Anticon. He has also been a member of numerous groups including Deep Puddle Dynamics, A7pha, Greenthink, Clouddead, Themselves, Subtle, 13 & God, Go Dark, and Nevermen. History Doseone was born Adam Kidd Drucker in Nampa, Idaho, on April 21, 1977. He is known for his extensive collaborations with other Anticon members, forming numerous groups and performing guest spots on others' releases. David P. Madson (born 1976), better known by his stage name Odd Nosdam, is an American underground hip hop producer, DJ and visual artist. He is co-founder of the record label Anticon. He has remixed tracks by a variety of bands and artists including Boards of Canada, The Notwist, and Sole. History Odd Nosdam was first noticed for his production on '' cLOUDDEAD'', the debut album released in 2001 by cLOUDDEAD, his former group with Yoni Wolf of Why? and Doseone. Jeffrey James Logan (born May 7, 1978), better known by his stage name Jel, is an American hip hop producer and rapper. He is co-founder of the record label Anticon. He has been a member of Presage, Themselves, Subtle, and 13 & God. Biography Jel released his first solo album, '' 10 Seconds'', on Mush Records in 2002. The album is titled after the limited sampling time of E-mu SP-1200. It features contributions from Dax Pierson, Odd Nosdam, Doseone, and Alias. His second solo album, '' Soft Money'', was released on Anticon in 2006. The album features contributions from Dosh, Wise Intelligent of Poor Righteous Teachers, and Stefanie Böhm of Ms. John Soda, among others. Brendon Patrick Whitney (April 5, 1976 – March 30, 2018), better known by his stage name Alias, was an American hip hop producer, producer and rapping, rapper from Hollis, Maine. He was a co-founder of the indie hip hop record label Anticon. History Alias originally performed as a rapper with Sole (artist), Sole in the group Live Poets. He also produced his own songs, but would still rap over another producer's beats. He moved to California in 1999 to start the label Anticon, as well as to focus on his music. Later on, as Alias began working with Anticon, he produced tracks for the emcees on the label. In 2002, Alias released his first solo album ''The Other Side of the Looking Glass''. He produced and rapped on the album. After that, Alias moved away from rapping to focus solely on production. James Timothy "Tim" Holland Jr. (born September 25, 1977), better known by his stage name Sole, is an American underground hip hop artist from Portland, Maine. He is one of eight co-founders of the record label Anticon. He has been a member of the groups Northern Exposure, Live Poets, Deep Puddle Dynamics, So-Called Artists, Da Babylonianz, Sole and the Skyrider Band and Waco Boyz. Career Sole recorded his first demo in 1992. At age 15, he assembled 45 Below Records, which included rappers Alias, JD Walker, and producer DJ Moodswing9 (then known as Cuz the Highlander). Sole and Moodswing9 released the album ''Mad Skillz and Unpaid Billz'' together as Northern Exposure, selling more than 300 copies. They also released 2 12" singles in 1995 and 1997 respectively and album in 1996 named ''What It All About'' under the name Live Poets. Sean Michael Daley (born September 7, 1972), better known by his stage name Slug, is an American rapping, rapper from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Slug is best known as one-half of the hip-hop group Atmosphere (music group), Atmosphere, which he founded with Derek Turner (Spawn). Indie Hip Hop
Underground hip hop (also known as underground rap or simply underground) traditionally refers to hip hop music that is outside the general mainstream canon or counter-cultural in nature, usually with a heavy emphasis on emotion, lyricism, and/or social consciousness. Being outside of the mainstream, it is common for artists or songs that are considered "underground" to have little commercial success, though this is not a requirement, as many have gained massive followings, especially in the streaming era.
