Deadsy Members
Deadsy is an American industrial rock band from Los Angeles. The band is known for its visual appearance and unique musical style the band self-describes as "undercore". The band has released two major studio albums. The band was initially signed to Sire Records, but the band's Deadsy (album), self-titled debut album for the label was shelved shortly before its 1997 release. After attempting to re-work the album, they were ultimately dropped from the label in 1999. After eventually signing to Jonathan Davis' Elementree Records, and finally releasing the album, now known as ''Commencement (album), Commencement'', in 2002, Deadsy toured across the United States, most notably performing on the Family Values Tour. After the release of ''Phantasmagore'' on Immortal Records/Elementree in 2006, the band took a hiatus in 2007. Commencement (album)
''Commencement'' is the major debut studio album by American rock band Deadsy, released on May 14, 2002. Initially suspended upon distribution changes at Sire, it was officially released through DreamWorks under the Elementree sublabel. It includes the single "The Key to Gramercy Park" which had a music video. Featuring guest musicians and industry figures such as Jonathan Davis, it was a commercial disappointment, selling 100,000 copies by 2006. Background Intended as an improved edition of Deadsy's first album, ''Commencement'' was originally anticipated for a fall 1999 release under Sire Records. The nearly completed record was left in limbo when Sire's distribution deal with Warner Bros. dissolved. Deadsy was soon dropped from the label and given the option of releasing their album underdeveloped or taking the songs elsewhere. ''Random'' is a double- CD tribute album featuring songs by Gary Numan, released in 1997 on his first label, Beggars Banquet. ''Random'' was released four months before Numan's 1997 studio album ''Exile''. It played a key role in his 1990s career revival, showing the influence he had had on artists such as Damon Albarn, Pop Will Eat Itself, and Jesus Jones. Gary Anthony James Webb (born 8 March 1958), known professionally as Gary Numan, is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He entered the music industry as frontman of the New wave music, new wave band Tubeway Army. Orgy is an American industrial rock band formed in 1997, from Los Angeles, California. They have described their music as "death pop". The band is best known for their cover version of the New Order song " Blue Monday", and their original song " Stitches", both from their 1998 album '' Candyass''. In 2000, they released their second album, ''Vapor Transmission'', with "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)" and "Opticon" as singles. Jay Gordon (born January 30, 1967) is an American singer. He is best known as the lead singer and original member of the rock band Orgy, which he founded in 1997. Career 1997–2000 Orgy's first release, 1998's '' Candyass'', would prove to be a huge success and earned a platinum certification in sales, which was primarily fueled by the popularity of their cover of New Order's " Blue Monday", as well as that of their first single, " Stitches". The Roland Juno-106 is a synthesizer released by Roland Corporation in February 1984. Features The Juno-106 is a polyphonic synthesizer with six voices. It is an analog synthesizer but with digitally controlled oscillators and chorus effects. Whereas its predecessor, the Juno-60, has 56 patches, the Juno-106 has 128. It introduced Roland's performance lever for pitch bends and modulation, which became a standard feature of Roland instruments. Pavement (band)
Pavement is an American indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California, in 1989. For most of their career, the group consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals and guitar), Scott Kannberg (guitar and vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums), and Bob Nastanovich (percussion, synthesizers and vocals). Initially conceived as a recording project, the band at first avoided press or live performances, while attracting considerable underground attention with their early releases. Gregg Allman
Gregory LeNoir Allman (December 8, 1947 – May 27, 2017) was an American musician, singer and songwriter. He was known for performing in the Allman Brothers Band. Allman grew up with an interest in rhythm and blues music, and the Allman Brothers Band fused it with rock music, jazz, and country music, country.
