"C·30 C·60 C·90 Go" is the debut single by English new wave band Bow Wow Wow. It was written by Malcolm McLaren, Matthew Ashman, Leigh Gorman and Dave Barbarossa. Originally only released on cassette, it was the world's first-ever cassette single. Background After recording ''Dirk Wears White Sox'' as members of Adam and the Ants, Ashman, Gorman and Barbarossa were convinced by former Sex Pistols manager McLaren to leave Adam Ant to form Bow Wow Wow under his management. Liverpool session musician, music director, and talent scout Dave Fishel heard Annabella Lwin singing along to the radio at the dry cleaners in West Hampstead where she worked and convinced McLaren to audition her for the band. They signed with EMI Records in July 1980 and released "C·30 C·60 C·90 Go" shortly afterward. Release The single was originally released solely on cassette. Bow Wow Wow are an English New wave music, new wave band, created by manager Malcolm McLaren in 1980. McLaren recruited members of Adam and the Ants to form the band with then 13-year-old Annabella Lwin on lead vocals. They released their debut Extended play, EP ''Your Cassette Pet'' in 1980 and had their first UK top 10 hit with "Go Wild in the Country" in 1982. "Home Taping Is Killing Music" was the slogan of a 1980s anti-copyright infringement propaganda campaign by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), a British music industry trade group. With the rise in cassette recorder popularity, the BPI feared that the ability of private citizens to record music from the radio onto cassettes would cause a decline in record sales. The logo, consisting of a Jolly Roger formed from the silhouette of a compact cassette, also included the words "And It's Illegal". The campaign was officially launched by then-BPI chairman Chris Wright on 28 October 1981. An early proponent of home taping was Malcolm McLaren, who was at the time managing the British new wave band Bow Wow Wow. ''Your Cassette Pet'' is the cassette-only debut mini-album by English new wave band Bow Wow Wow, released in November 1980 on EMI Records. Release ''Your Cassette Pet'' contained only eight tracks (plus an instrumental secret track), and was not available on vinyl. Therefore, it was eligible only for the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at No. 58, and not the UK Albums Chart. Two of the more notorious tracks from ''Your Cassette Pet'' are "Sexy Eiffel Towers" and "Louis Quatorze". "Sexy Eiffel Towers" included suggestive moaning and heavy breathing performed by then-14-year-old Lwin. "Louis Quatorze", which called attention to Lwin's young age, described a sexual assault at gun point. A mini-LP or mini-album is a short record album or LP, usually retailing at a lower price than an album that would be considered full-length. It is distinct from an EP due to containing more tracks and a slightly longer running length. A mini-LP is not to be confused with the Japanese CDs issued in a " mini LP sleeve" or "paper jacket".
