The nations of the Czech Republic and Mexico established diplomatic relations in 1993. Relations between both nations existed beginning in 1922 when the Czech Republic was part of Czechoslovakia until its separation from the union in 1992. Both countries are members of the OECD, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the United Nations. The Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, and historically known as Bohemia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country is bordered by Austria to the south, Germany to the west, Poland to the northeast, and Slovakia to the southeast. Czech Mexicans () are citizens of Mexico who are of Czech descent. Patricia Espinosa
Patricia Espinosa Cantellano (born October 21, 1958) is a Mexican diplomat who served as the executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change from 2016 to 2022. Tomáš Petříček (born 27 September 1981) is a Czech politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from October 2018 to April 2021.
