Cyril Scott (actor)
Cyril Scott (February 9, 1866 – August 16, 1945) was an Irish-born stage and film actor who spent most of his career in the United States. Long on the stage, Scott first appeared on stage in the U.S. at Paterson, New Jersey and later appeared in the companies of Mrs. Fiske, Lotta Crabtree and Richard Mansfield. In 1900 he appeared in '' The Casino Girl'' and was in musicals with De Wolf Hopper. He entered silent films in 1913, appearing in Augustus Thomas's film adaptation of his play ''Arizona''. He appeared in only a handful of movies before his last in 1932. He was a member of both the Lambs and Players Clubs. Scott was born in Banbridge, County Down, Ireland, and died in Flushing, Queens, New York City. He was married to comedic actress Louise Eissing until her death by suicide in 1921. Banbridge
Banbridge ( ) is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies on the River Bann and the A1 road and is named after a bridge built over the Bann in 1712. It is in the civil parish of Seapatrick and the historic barony of Iveagh Upper, Upper Half. The town began as a coaching stop on the road from Belfast to Dublin and thrived from Irish linen manufacturing. The town was home to the headquarters of the former Banbridge District Council. Following a reform of local government in Northern Ireland in 2015, Banbridge became part of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. It had a population of 17,400 in the 2021 census. The town's main street is very unusual, rising to a steep hill before levelling out. In 1834 an underpass was built as horses with heavy loads would faint before reaching the top of the hill. ''His Royal Highness'' is a 1932 Australian musical film directed by F. W. Thring, also known as ''His Loyal Highness'' (Australia alternative title and title in the United Kingdom), starring George Wallace in his feature film debut. It was the first Australian film musical. Plot Tommy Dodds (George Wallace) is a stage hand who has a crush on Molly. He is knocked unconscious and dreams he is the King of Betonia. He scandalises the court by gambling with footmen and teaching his Prime Minister to roller skate, and uncovers a conspiracy by Torano and Yoiben. The rightful heir to the throne is discovered and Tommy is no longer king. He wakes up from his dream and sees that Molly is interested in someone else. Flushing is a neighborhood in the north-central portion of the New York City Borough (New York City), borough of Queens. The neighborhood is the fourth-largest central business district in New York City. Downtown Flushing is a major commercial and retail area, and the intersection of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue at its core is the third-busiest in New York City, behind Times Square and Herald Square.
