Cyril Gove
Cyril George Gove (10 January 1890 – 28 August 1973) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Julius Gove (1854–1922), and Catherine Gove (1860–1923), née Blyth, Cyril George Gove was born on 10 January 1890. He married Olga Macaw (1907–1984) on 27 October 1932. Football Gove, from St Thomas' Grammar School, Essendon, played his early football for the Collegians. A wiry wingman, he played 16 games in the 1914 VFL season and was chosen to represent the VFL in the Sydney Carnival. St Kilda, Victoria
St Kilda is an inner seaside suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 6 km (4 miles) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Port Phillip local government area. 1915 VFL Season
The 1915 VFL season was the 19th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured nine clubs, following the departure of after a seven-year stint in the league. The season ran from 24 April until 18 September, and comprised a 16-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Carlton Football Club for the fifth time and second time consecutively, after it defeated by 33 points in the 1915 VFL Grand Final. Withdrawal of University On 16 October 1914, three weeks after the end of the 1914 season, the University Football Club dropped out of the VFL and folded. Collegians are an Australian rugby league football team based in Wollongong. The club are a part of Country Rugby League and compete in the Illawarra Rugby League premiership. Originally known as CBC Old Boys, the Club was founded in 1933. The Brothers Club was then admitted to the Illawarra 1st Grade competition in 1938.
