A census-designated place (CDP) is a concentration of population defined by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes only. CDPs have been used in each decennial census since 1980 as the counterparts of incorporated places, such as self-governing cities, towns, and villages, for the purposes of gathering and correlating statistical data. CDPs are populated areas that generally include one officially designated but currently unincorporated community, for which the CDP is named, plus surrounding inhabited countryside of varying dimensions and, occasionally, other, smaller unincorporated communities as well. CDPs include small rural communities, edge cities, colonias located along the Mexico–United States border, and unincorporated resort and retirement communities and their environs. Perry Township, Pike County, Ohio
Perry Township is one of the fourteen townships of Pike County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 915 people in the township. Geography Located in the northwestern corner of the county, it borders the following townships: * Paxton Township, Ross County - north * Benton Township - east * Mifflin Township - southeast * Brushcreek Township, Highland County - west * Paint Township, Highland County - northwest No municipalities are located in Perry Township, although the unincorporated community of Cynthiana lies in the northwestern part of the township. Pike County is a county located in the Appalachian (southern) region of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 27,088. Its county seat is Waverly. The county is named for explorer Zebulon Pike. History Pike County was organized on February 1, 1815, from portions of Scioto, Ross, and Adams Counties, and was named in honor of Zebulon Pike, the explorer and soldier who had recently been killed in the War of 1812. Ohio State Route 41
State Route 41 (SR 41) is a north–south state highway in the southern and western portions of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 52, US 62 Business, and US 68 Business in Aberdeen. (US 62 Bus. and US 68 Bus. continue south through Maysville, Kentucky crossing the Ohio River at the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge from this point); and its northern terminus is along SR 48 at US 36 in Covington.
