South Kent School, a private all-boys boarding school in South Kent, Connecticut, United States, is located on a campus in western Litchfield County. Cuylerville is a hamlet in the Town of Leicester, in Livingston County, New York, United States. The population was 297 at the 2010 census, which lists the community as a census-designated place. History The community was named for W. T. Cuyler, an early settler. The hamlet is located on the site of Little Beard's Town, a large Seneca village destroyed in the Sullivan Campaign. The town is in the northeastern corner of Cortland County and is northeast of the city of Cortland. History Cuyler was in the former Central New York Military Tract. The area was first settled ''circa'' 1794. The town was formed from part of the town of Truxton in 1858. In 1865, the population of the town was 1,447. Thomas DeWitt Cuyler (September 28, 1854 – November 2, 1922) was an American lawyer who served as director of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the chairman of the Association of Railway Executives. Abraham Cornelius Cuyler (April 11, 1742 – February 5, 1810) was a businessman and the last mayor of colonial Albany, New York, the third generation in a row to serve in that office. Early life Abraham was born in 1742 to Mayor Cornelis Cuyler (1697-1765) and Catalyntie Schuyler (1704-1758). His father was a fur trader and merchant who represented Albany's interests in Mohawk Country and Canada. Cornelius was an alderman and an active member of the Indian Affairs Commission and also served as Mayor of Albany from 1742 until 1746.
