The Cutthroats 9 is a band formed by Chris Spencer of Unsane ''Unsane'' is a 2018 American psychological horror film directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer. The film stars Claire Foy, Joshua Leonard, Jay Pharoah, Matt Damon, Juno Temple, Aimee Mullins, and Amy I ... when he moved to California. Their first album was called ''The Cutthroats 9'' and also came out on Man's Ruin. The lineup for this recording featured Spencer on guitar/vocals, Unsane bassist Dave Curran, plus Mark Laramie and Will Carroll on guitar and drums respectively. They followed it up with a six song EP that came out on Reptilian Records with Chris (guitar), Mark (bass) and Will (drums). The band toured heavily in 2001/2002, with Tony Baumeister replacing Laramie on bass in early 2002. Man's Ruin Records
Man's Ruin Records was an independent record label owned and founded by San Francisco Bay Area artist Frank Kozik. After the 1994 release of Man's Ruin's first record ''Experimental Audio Research (EAR): Delta 6'' Kozik worked with artists whom he wanted to release. He also designed all of the sleeve-art for the releases. The catalog of Man's Ruin is vast--including relatively famous bands such as: The Hellacopters, Nebula, Kyuss, High on Fire, Entombed, Turbonegro, 13eaver, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Sex Pistols, and also less known bands such as: FuckEmos, Soulpreacher, Angelrot, and Los Cowslingers. Unsane (band)
Unsane is an American noise rock trio that was formed in New York City in 1988. Its music touches on elements of hardcore punk and metal. The writer Patrick Kennedy wrote, "While developing the blueprint for noise-metal bands to follow, Unsane cut a remarkable swath through underground music, inspiring a devoted, cult-like following around the world." History In 1988, the singer/guitarist Chris Spencer, bass guitarist Pete Shore and drummer Charlie Ondras were students at Sarah Lawrence College when they formed Lawn-Chair-Blisters before changing the name to Unsane. The band signed to Circuit Records and recorded tracks with Wharton Tiers for what was supposed to be their first album ''Improvised Munitions'', but the label did not release it.
