Shirley M. Kitchen (born September 18, 1946) is an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 181st district from 1987 through 1988 and the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 3rd District from 1996 to 2016. She is the second African-American woman to serve in the Pennsylvania Senate. Early life and education Kitchen was born in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated from Antioch University in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in Human Services and attended Temple University. She received certificates in Child Care, Behavior Modification and Economic Development from Temple. Malcolm Kenyatta (born July 30, 1990) is an American politician from the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A member of the Democratic Party, he serves as the Pennsylvania state representative for the 181st district. He was the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania Auditor General in the 2024 election, and in February 2025 was elected vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. History Currently, the database documents Pennsylvania's county-level vote totals for President, Governor, United States Senator, and Congressional elections back to 1796.
