Cudgewa
Cudgewa is a small town in the Australian state of Victoria. The town is located adjacent to the Murray Valley Highway, north east of the state capital, Melbourne. Part of the Shire of Towong local government area, at the 2006 census Cudgewa and the surrounding district had a population of 237. Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park and Mount Mitta Mitta Regional Park are close to the town. Pre-colonial History The Victorian side of the Upper Murray area was part of the traditional country of the Wolgal People. After the arrival of Europeans to Australia, around 1863, up to two hundred First Nation people were visiting the area, accompanied by almost as many dogs, hunting along Boundary Creek and Cudgewa Creek before moving on . Upper Murray Football League
The Upper Murray Football Netball League (UMFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the rural Victoria (Australia), Victorian town of Corryong, Victoria, Corryong. The UMFNL contains four clubs from around the townships and farming districts of the greater Shire of Upper Murray, Upper Murray area, including two of the three founding clubs from 1893. The UMFNL features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being Senior-Grade, Under 14's, with Under 10's as Auskick. In the netball competition, there are six grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade, D-Grade, Under 15's, with Under 11's as Netta (other), Netta. Results from Auskick & Netta are normally not recorded and final series are normally not played, instead, emphasis is put on having fun while playing sport and improving their skills. The Cudgewa railway line is a closed railway line in the north-east of Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. Cudgewa Football Netball Club
Cudgewa Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Blues'', is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Upper Murray Football League. The club is based in Victorian town of Cudgewa and plays its home games at the Cudgewa Recreation Reserve. The club fields senior, reserve and junior sides as well as fielding all netball sides. History The Blues were among the founding members in 1893 of the Corryong Football Association, the competition which, after several name changes, became the Upper Murray Football League in 1937. The side finished second in its debut season and again in 1895 before claiming its first premiership in 1896. This inaugural flag was won on the basis of the number of premiership points attained during the home and away season, but by the time Cudgewa next went top, in 1904, the Association had introduced a finals system. Murray Valley Highway
Murray Valley Highway is a rural highway located in Victoria (state), Victoria (with a short western tail in New South Wales), Australia, between Euston, New South Wales and Corryong, Victoria. The popular tourist route mostly follows the southern bank of the Murray River and effectively acts as the northernmost highway in Victoria. For all but the western end's last three kilometres, the highway is allocated route B400. Corryong is a town in Victoria, Australia, east of Albury-Wodonga, near the upper reaches of the Murray River and close to the New South Wales border. At the , Corryong had a population of 1,348. The post office opened on 1 February 1874. The town also has its own airport. Corryong hosts ''The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival'', held annually in April.
