''Cucullanus gymnothoracis'' is a species of parasitic nematodes. It is an endoparasite of the lipspot moray ''Gymnothorax chilospilus''. The species has been described in 2018 by František Moravec & Jean-Lou Justine from material collected off New Caledonia in the South Pacific Ocean. ''Cucullanus gymnothoracis'' was considered somewhat similar to '' Cucullanus austropacificus'', but differs from this species in the absence of cervical alae and the posterior cloacal outgrowth, in the shape and size of the anterior cloacal outgrowth and shorter spicules Spicules are any of various small needle-like anatomical structures occurring in organisms Spicule may also refer to: * Spicule (sponge), small skeletal elements of sea sponges * Spicule (nematode), reproductive structures found in male nematodes ... 1.12 mm long. František Moravec (parasitologist)
František Moravec (born 1 January 1939) is a Czech parasitologist who specialises on the Nematodes, especially the nematodes fish parasites, parasites of fishes. His research is mainly in the field of taxonomy (biology), taxonomy of the Nematoda. Education and career Moravec was born on 1 January 1939 in Velká Bystřice. He was in high school in Olomouc then was a student in the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic (at that time Czechoslovakia). For his Masters in 1962, he studied the parasitic worms of reptiles of Czechoslovakia. After graduation, he worked at the Institute of Parasitology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in České Budějovice, and in 1970 completed his thesis on nematodes parasites in fish. He is a world authority on Nematodes, especially their systematics and biology. Gymnothorax Chilospilus
The lipspot moray eel (''Gymnothorax chilospilus''), also known as the textile moray, white-lipped moray or white-lipped reef eel, is a moray eel found in coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.''Gymnothorax chilospilus''

It was first named by Pieter Bleeker in 1864. It is named for a distinct white spot on the lower lip near the corner of the mouth.

František Moravec
František Moravec CBE (23 July 1895 – 26 July 1966) was the chief Czechoslovak military intelligence officer before and during World War II. He moved to the United States after the war. Biography In 1915, Moravec was drafted into Austro-Hungarian Army and sent to the Eastern Front, into Galicia. In September 1914, he fought at the Battle of Rawa. On 13 January 1915, Moravec was taken as prisoner by Russian troops and sent to the POW camp in Tsaritsyn. In 1916, he joined the Serbian Legion and fought in the Romanian Front, was moved from Archangel (Archangelsk) to Britain, and in 1917 joined the Czechoslovak Legions at the Salonica front. In January 1918, the legions were sent to the Western Front in France and, in summer 1918, to the Italian Front. Ascaridida
The order Ascaridida includes several families of parasitic roundworms with three "lips" on the anterior end. They were formerly placed in the subclass Rhabditia by some, but morphological and DNA sequence data rather unequivocally assign them to the Spiruria. The nematodes ( or grc-gre, Νηματώδη; la, Nematoda) or roundworms constitute the phylum Nematoda (also called Nemathelminthes), with plant- parasitic nematodes also known as eelworms. They are a diverse animal phylum inhabiting a broad range of environments. Less formally, they are categorized as Helminths, but are taxonomically classified along with arthropods, tardigrades and other moulting animals in the clade Ecdysozoa, and unlike flatworms, have tubular digestive systems with openings at both ends.
