''My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'' is an animated television series based on Hasbro's ''My Little Pony'' franchise. Dan Zimmermann
Daniel Hans Erwin Zimmermann (born 30 October 1966 in Nürnberg, West Germany) is a retired German heavy metal drummer. He is best known as having been the drummer of German power metal bands Gamma Ray and Freedom Call. He was a founding member of Freedom Call, from which he departed in 2010. Two years later he also left Gamma Ray, announcing a retirement from the music business in 2012. Freedom Call celebrated their 20th anniversary and release of ''M.E.T.A.L'', their tenth studio album, on tour. The new album featured a reprise of Zimmermann's drumming on the title song. Helloween
Helloween is a German power metal band founded in 1984 in Hamburg by members of bands Iron Fist, Gentry, Second Hell and Powerfool. The band has at times been called one of the most influential European heavy metal bands of the 1980s. Its first lineup consisted of singer and guitarist Kai Hansen, bassist Markus Grosskopf, guitarist Michael Weikath and drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg. By the time Hansen left Helloween in 1989 to form Gamma Ray (band), Gamma Ray, the band had evolved into a five-piece, with Michael Kiske taking over as lead vocalist. Schwichtenberg and Kiske both parted ways with Helloween in 1993; Schwichtenberg died two years later as the result of suicide. Between then and 2016, there had been numerous line-up changes, leaving Grosskopf and Weikath as the only remaining original members. Sascha Gerstner (born 2 April 1977) is a German musician who has been one of the guitarists and backing vocalists of power metal band Helloween since 2002. As of 2016, he is Helloween's second-longest tenured guitarist, surpassing his predecessor Roland Grapow, who stayed in the band for 12 years. He is also a former member of Freedom Call. Biography Starting as a keyboard player at age 6, Gerstner explored the 80s new wave and pop scenes. At 13, he shifted to the guitar, influenced by Michael Schenker Group and Steve Lukather. In 1998, he joined the metal band Freedom Call, contributing to their first two albums and touring extensively. In 2002, he connected with Michael Weikath of Helloween. Since then, Gerstner has been a guitarist and songwriter for Helloween, recording seven studio albums and earning commercial success. His guitar skills earned recognition in the power metal scene.
