Croatian True Revival
Croatian True Revival ( or HIP) was a right-wing political party in Croatia. Founded in 2002 as a splinter party of the centre-right Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), HIP never won any seats in elections, although it briefly had three MPs in the Croatian Parliament in late 2003. Following poor results in the November 2003 parliamentary election, the party fell into obscurity before being formally dissolved in August 2011. History HIP grew out of a conservative citizens' association known by the same initialism, called "Croatian Identity and Prosperity" (), established by conservative politician Miroslav Tuđman, son of the late Franjo Tuđman. Miroslav Tuđman
Miroslav Tuđman (; 25 May 1946 – 31 January 2021) was a Croatian scientist and politician, the son and eldest child of the first President of Croatia, Franjo Tuđman, and his wife Ankica. Biography Tuđman was born in Belgrade, where he completed grade school, before he moved with his family to Zagreb in 1961. He was born on his parents' 1st anniversary. He was named Miroslav after the famous writer Miroslav Krleža who was adored by his father at that period. He graduated from gymnasium and then from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb in 1970. He became part of the faculty and received a doctorate in information sciences at the same university in 1985. In 1989 he founded the Institute for Information Studies at the Faculty. Croatian Parliament Electoral Districts
The Croatian Parliament electoral districts () are the special territorial subdivision of Croatia used for Elections in Croatia#Parliamentary elections, the country's parliamentary elections. Croatia has twelve electoral districts. Ten of these are geographical districts within Croatia, each providing fourteen members of sabor, Croatian Parliament. District XI is for Croatian citizens living abroad, with three members of parliament (until 2011, it elected a maximum twelve members of parliament, depending on turnout). District XII is for national minorities, providing eight members of parliament. The first ten districts are roughly based on geography, but shaped according to the number of voters so that each district holds roughly the same number of registered voters, around 400,000. The electoral threshold, or election threshold, is the minimum share of votes that a candidate or political party requires before they become entitled to representation or additional seats in a legislature. Ivić Pašalić
Ivić Pašalić (; born 3 November 1960) is a Croatian politician and former prominent member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). Education and medical career Pašalić was born in Šuica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He attended high school in Zagreb and in 1980 he entered the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb. He graduated in 1986 and gained a master's degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Mostar, where he specialised internal medicine. He started to work as a doctor in Lepoglava where he worked for two years, after which he was employed at the Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases and TB in Klenovnik where he worked as a director as well. Croatian Bloc (political Party)
Croatian Bloc ( or HB) was a right-wing political party in Croatia. Its name was often followed by the phrase ''Pokret za modernu Hrvatsku'' meaning "Movement for a Modern Croatia". It was founded in September 2002 following the convention of the Croatian Democratic Union at which Ivić Pašalić failed to unseat his main rival Ivo Sanader. Pašalić and his followers founded the new party, accusing Sanader both of winning the convention by undemocratic means and straying from the nationalist legacy of Franjo Tuđman. The new party, however, didn't attract the majority of HDZ supporters who rallied around Sanader during the 2003 parliamentary elections. Croatian Bloc failed to enter Croatian Parliament.
