Croatian Bureau Of Statistics
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics ( or DZS) is the Croatian national statistics bureau. History The bureau was formed in 1875 in Austria-Hungary as the ''Zemaljski statistički ured'' for the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia. In 1924, the bureau was renamed to the ''Statistical Office in Zagreb'' (''Statistički ured u Zagrebu''). In 1929, after royal monarchy was proclaimed in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes the bureau lost its financial and technical independence. In 1939 with the formation of the Banovina of Croatia, the office was made subject to the presidential office on the Ban's administration. In 1941 the Independent State of Croatia was formed and an ''Office of General State Statistics'' existed during this time under the control of the presidential government. Croatian Discount Bank
The Croatian Discount Bank () was a significant bank headquartered in Zagreb, which was conceived in 1864 and started opetrations on . It merged in 1928 with the Croatian-Slavonian Land Mortgage Bank (, est. 1892) to form the Yugoslav United Bank (, also ''Union banka''). The latter was rebranded Croatian United Bank () under the Independent State of Croatia in 1941. Its liquidation by the Communist authorities was initiated in late 1945 and completed in 1949. Donji grad (, locally also , ) is one of the 17 city districts of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located in the central part of the city and has 37,024 inhabitants (as of 2011). 2021 Croatian Census
The Census of population, households and apartments in the Republic of Croatia in 2021 (Croatian language, Croatian: Popis stanovništva, kućanstva i stanova u Republici Hrvatskoj 2021. godine; shortened: Census 2021, Popis 2021.) was the 4th decennial Croatian census. The demographic characteristics of the population of Croatia are known through censuses, normally conducted in ten-year intervals and analysed by various statistical bureaus since the 1850s. The Croatian Bureau of Statistics has performed this task since the 1990s. The latest census in Croatia was performed in autumn of 2021. According to final results published on 22 September 2022 the permanent population of Croatia at the 2021 census (31st Aug) had reached 3.87 million. The population density is 68.7 inhabitants per square kilometre, and the overall life expectancy in Croatia at birth was 78,2 years in 2018. Ilica (street)
Ilica is one of the longest streets in Zagreb, Croatia. The busy street is home to many shops and cultural sites and spans through most of the northwestern part of the city, from the Ban Jelačić Square in the city centre westward to the Vrapče district. The street is long, making it the third longest street in the city. The name was first recorded in 1431, while the street itself retained its present shape at the end of the 18th century. In the 14th century, the street was known under the name ''Lončarska ves'' (archaic Croatian for "Potters' village", also ''Vicus lutifigulorum'' in Latin). Today, Ilica is 5,653 meters long, making it the fourth longest in Zagreb, after Radnička cesta and Zagrebačka and Slavonska avenues.
