''Adderly'' is a Canadian television adventure-drama series which aired from 1986 to 1988. It was broadcast on both Canadian TV and on CBS in the United States. It starred Vancouver-born Winston Rekert as "charming and witty V. H. Adderly," an operative working for an obscure government intelligence agency. Elliott Baker
Elliott Baker (December 15, 1922 – February 9, 2007), born Elliot Joseph Cohen, was a screenwriter and novelist. He died from cancer in 2007 at the age of 84. Baker was born in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Indiana University. He was the author of the comic novel '' A Fine Madness'', which was published in 1964 by G.P. Putnam's Sons. He adapted the novel into a 1966 motion picture starring Sean Connery and Joanne Woodward. ''A Fine Madness'' tells the story of Samson Shillitoe, a rebellious poet in Greenwich Village who battles a psychiatrist seeking to curb his mood swings via psychosurgery. The New York Times Book Review called the novel "a masterpiece of what one might call rebellious farce." Paul Shapiro (born 1955) is a Canadian television director, producer and writer, who has worked in both Canada and the United States. ''The CBS Late Movie'' is a CBS television series (later known as ''CBS Late Night'') that aired during the 1970s and 1980s. The program ran in most American television markets from 11:30 p.m. ( ET/ PT) until 2:30 a.m. or later, on weeknights. Winston Rekert
Winston Houghton Rekert (June 10, 1949 – September 14, 2012) was a Canadian actor. He was best known for starring in the television series ''Adderly'' and ''Neon Rider''. Career A Vancouver native, Rekert started acting at age 12, appearing in an amateur production of ''Amahl and the Night Visitors''. After high school, Rekert spent a year working in a logging camp, then took a year off to try acting. Rekert subsequently joined the Arts Club Theatre Company and in 1973 he landed his first television role on the comedy-drama ''The Beachcombers''. Jack Leitch
Jack Leitch (born 17 July 1995) is a Scottish footballer who plays for club East Kilbride. A midfielder, he started his career with Motherwell and was a product of the Motherwell Academy. In 2016, he moved to Airdrieonians and had one season with the Diamonds. Leitch then played for Peterhead for three seasons before signing for Stirling Albion in 2020.
