Cristóbal Domínguez
Cristóbal Domínguez (¿-1814) was a Spanish administrator. He was Presidio Inspector and Governor of Texas in 1814. Biography The date and place in which Domínguez was born are unknown. He arrived in Texas, probably by passing through New Mexico. Dominguez served as adjutant inspector of several presidios of Coahuila and Texas, a job he kept until November 26, 1810. He left the presidios for Nacogdoches following orders from governor of Texas Manuel María de Salcedo. However, Dominguez made an enemy of Commanding officer of the region, José María Guadiana, since both had different views about the Spanish control of Texas: Dominguez supported it and Guadiana did not. So, when the Casas Revolt broke up in 1811, Guadiana imprisoned Dominguez as punishment for his mentioned political ideas. Coahuila And Texas
Coahuila y Tejas, officially the Estado Libre y Soberano de Coahuila y Tejas (), was one of the constituent states of the newly established United Mexican States under its 1824 Constitution. It had two capitals: first Saltillo (1822–1825) for petition of Miguel Ramos Arizpe, that changing the capital for dispute of political groups, but Monclova recovered primacy because it was the colonial capital since 1689; this action provoked a struggle between the residents of Saltillo and Monclova in 1838–1840, but the political actions of Santa Anna convinced the monclovitas to accept the final change of political powers to Saltillo. In the case of Tejas its territory was organized for administrative purposes, with the state being divided into three districts: Béxar, comprising the area covered by Texas; Monclova, comprising northern Coahuila; and Río Grande Saltillo, comprising southern Coahuila. Manuel Pardo (governor)
Manuel Pardo (1774–?) was a Spanish soldier who was the Interim Governor of the Province of Texas in 1817 and of Coahuila between 1819 and 1820. He participated in the Texas Revolution as the assistant to the Centralist Troops led by Martín Perfecto de Cos on the Mexican side. Career Manuel Pardo was born in 1774, in Santander (Cantabria, Spain). He joined the Spanish Army in his youth and fought in the military campaigns of France (in 1795), Portugal (1801), Aranjuez and Madrid (both in 1802 in the Community of Madrid). Juan Ignacio Pérez
Juan Ignacio Pérez (July 1761 – 1823) was acting governor of Texas (July 27, 1816 – March 20, 1817). He also excelled as a member of the Royalist troops in Texas during the New Spain War of Independence, and in the war against the American filibusters that had invaded several places of Texas in 1819 and 1821. Biography Juan Ignacio Pérez was born to Domingo Pérez and María Concepción de Carvajal and had twelve brothers. Although raised in a military family that participated in the various events that affected Texas, Perez became a wealthy landowner and cattle rancher in San Antonio, Texas, and in 1809 he was appointed commissioner of the ranches located in that region. Perez always maintained a loyalty to the Spanish Monarchy, even during the New Spain War of Independence, which began in 1810. Mariano Valera
Mariano Valera (1770 – ?) was a Novohispanic military man who served as a captain in Guajoquilla (today's Jimenez), Coahuila, lieutenant governor of Manuel Maria de Salcedo in Texas, chief of the Texas government department, and commander of the military garrisons that defended the province's presidios. He also served, briefly, as interim governor of Texas in 1815, replacing Cristóbal Domínguez, as did his predecessor Benito Armiñán, although he only governed for a week or one year (according to different authors). A cabildo () or ayuntamiento () was a Spanish Empire, Spanish colonial and early postcolonial administrative council that governed a municipality. Cabildos were sometimes appointed, sometimes elected, but were considered to be representative of all land-owning heads of medieval household, household (''vecinos'').
