Cripping-up
Cripping-up is the act of casting an actor without an apparent/visible disability into a role which is either scripted as having a disability, or into the role of an historical figure who is known to have been disabled. The term is from the audience's perspective where the visibly apparent disability is mimicked by an actor who does not have physical, sensory or communication disability. This does not always include disabled actors being cast in roles with different conditions to their own as the practice of transposing a condition in to a role can creatively work because the actor has a "lived experience" of disability. The term "cripping-up" began to appear in mainstream media around 2010. Crip (disability Term)
Crip, slang for cripple, is a term in the process of being reclaimed by disabled people. Wright State University suggests that the current community definition of crip includes people who experience any form of disability, such as one or more impairments with physical, mental, learning, and sensory, though the term primarily targets physical and mobility impairment. People might identify as a crip for many reasons. Some of these reasons are to show pride, to talk about disability rights, or avoid ranking types of disability. The term ''cripple'' is attested in English from as early as 950 CE. While cripple appeared to describe someone with a physical disability, it eventually became a slur focused on people deemed ugly due to a physical disability. Royal National Theatre

The Metamorphosis
''The Metamorphosis'' (), also translated as ''The Transformation'', is a novella by Franz Kafka published in 1915. She is known for portraying the role of Clarissa Mullery in the BBC crime drama ''Silent Witness'' (2013–2020), for campaigning for disabled rights, and for fronting the BBC documentary '' Better Off Dead?'' Color-blind Casting
Color-blind casting is the practice of casting roles without regard to the actor's ethnicity or race. Alternative terms and similar practices include non-traditional casting, integrated casting, or blind casting, which can involve casting without consideration of skin color, body shape, sex or gender. A representative of the Actors' Equity Association has disputed the use of "color blind casting", preferring "non-traditional casting". Non-traditional casting "is defined as the casting of ethnic minority actors in roles where race, ethnicity, or gender is not germane". Race-reversed casting is one form of non-traditional casting.
