Crime Investigation Department (Pakistan)
The Counter Terrorism Department (; CTD) formerly known as the Crime Investigation Department (CID), are crime scene investigation, interrogation, anti-terrorism, and intelligence bureaus of the provincial police services of Pakistan. The CTDs are operational in all four provinces of Pakistan under the respective provincial Home Ministry. While Islamabad Police, Gilgit-Baltistan Police, Azad Kashmir Police also have their own CTD bureaus. CTD bureaus are usually commanded by an Additional-Inspector General of Police. In Karachi, CTD teams have gathered intelligence to take action against organized crime, and, alongside the FIA and the IB, have infiltrated terrorist cells to track down TTP, Islamic State, al-Qaeda and other terror and separatist groups' operatives. Gilgit-Baltistan Police
The Gilgit-Baltistan Police (), formerly known as Northern Areas Police, is responsible for law enforcement in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The mission of the GB Police is the prevention and detection of crime, maintenance of law and order and enforcement of the Constitution of Pakistan. The current Inspector General of Gilgit-Baltistan Police is Afzal Mehmood Butt since July 2023. Crime Investigation Department (India)
A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is a Crime Branch of the state police departments of India responsible for the investigation of crime, based on the Criminal Investigation Departments of British police forces. It's the specialised investigation wing of the state police, and headed by an officer of the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) or Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). Formation and organization The first CID was created by the British Government in 1902, based on the recommendations of the Indian Police Commission, chaired by Andrew Fraser. The National Action Plan is an action plan that was established by the Government of Pakistan in December 2014 to crack down on terrorism and to supplement the ongoing anti-terrorist offensive in Federally Administered Tribal Areas. It is considered as a major coordinated state retaliation following the deadly 2014 Peshawar school attack. Following the national outrage over the targeted killing of schoolchildren in Peshawar by six Afghan and other foreign terrorists, the plan received unprecedented levels of support and co-operation across the country's political spectrum, inclusive of the federal and provincial governments. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan
The Pakistani Taliban, officially the Tehreek-i-Taliban-e-Pakistan (TTP), is an umbrella organization of various Islamist armed militant groups operating along the Afghan–Pakistani border. Formed in 2007 by Baitullah Mehsud, its current leader is Noor Wali Mehsud, who has publicly pledged allegiance to the Taliban (Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan). The Pakistani Taliban share a common ideology with the Afghan Taliban and have assisted them in the 2001–2021 war, but the two groups have separate operation and command structures.
