Father Ted Crilly
Father Ted Crilly is the eponymous main character of the British Channel 4 situation comedy ''Father Ted''. Created by Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews, Ted was portrayed by comedian Dermot Morgan for the programme's three series. The character is a morally dubious Roman Catholic priest exiled to Craggy Island, a small island off the coast of Galway in Ireland. The character was originally created by Mathews for a short-lived stand-up routine in the late 1980s. In 1994, Linehan and Mathews cast Morgan in the role for the television series, developing the character to match his abilities. Morgan's performance was acclaimed; after his untimely death in February 1998, he was awarded a posthumous BAFTA for his work in the third series. Crilly Airways Ltd was a former British airline founded by entrepreneur Frederick Leo Crilly. The airline operated passenger services between several cities in England in the mid-1930s. The airline started with a capitalization of £12,000. History Crilly Airways started up running two eight seat de Havilland Dragons from Braunstone, a suburb of Leicester. The first of these two aircraft was christened ''Spirit of Doncaster''. They also operated a de Havilland Fox Moth and two General Aircraft Monospar twin-engined monoplanes. In 1935, Crilly Airways sought government approval to operate an air service between Britain and Ireland but was refused. Sarah Crilly (born 17 October 1991) is a Scottish footballer who plays for Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) club Motherwell, typically as a winger. Crilly has four caps and two goals for the Scotland women's national football team. Club career Crilly joined Hamilton Academical at youth team level and progressed to playing for the first team in the SWPL, including winning the club's Player of the Month award for September 2012. In December 2012, Crilly signed for league champions Glasgow City, where she had already been a transfer target for a number of years.
