Cricket Star
Cricket Star is an interactive, multimedia talent hunt for the world's best young cricketer. The first season of Cricket Star aired from December 2006 to March 2007 on DoorDarshan and Zee TV. The passion, drama and energy captured the hearts and minds of millions of viewers who followed the unravelling story on television, across the Internet and through their mobile phones. The winner, Sukhvir Singh, was awarded a contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Cricket Star India is the first programme in a 5-year international roll out, and the new series is scheduled to air in early 2008. ''Emerging'' is the title of the only album by the Phil Keaggy Band, released in 1977 on NewSong Records. The album's release was delayed due to a shift in record pressing plant priorities following the death of Elvis Presley. The album was re-released on CD in 2000 as ''ReEmerging'' with one original track omitted and four newly recorded songs by the band members. DoorDarshan
Doordarshan (), abbreviated as DD, is India's State-owned enterprise, state-owned public broadcasting, public television broadcaster. Established by the Government of India on 15 September 1959, it is owned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (India), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and constitutes one of Prasar Bharati's two divisions. ZEE TV also known as Z TV is an Indian Hindi language general entertainment pay television channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises. It was launched on 1 October 1992 as the oldest privately owned television channel in India. History In 1991, Li Ka-shing started his STAR satellite television network. At the end of the year, Subhash Chandra of the Essel Group finished a round of negotiations with HutchVision, after a series of rejections, and the condition that Chandra would pay US$5 million a year for the satellite transponder. Li signed the deal in India a few months later and approached interested companies, but nobody was interested in paying the transponder fees. Twenty20 (abbreviated T20) is a shortened format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of twenty over (cricket), overs. Together with First-class cricket, first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being played at the highest level, both internationally and domestically. A typical Twenty20 match lasts just over 3 hours, with each innings lasting around 90 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings.
