Crevedia Explosions
The Crevedia explosions represent a series of three explosions that took place at a liquefied petroleum gas station, in Crevedia, Dâmbovița County, Romania, on the evening of 26 August 2023. Timeline On 26 August 2023, at 8:30, EEST, 2 tankers were at the LPG station. At around 18:00, a third tank arrived which supposedly had problems with a wheel, so they transferred the LPG to another tank. Under unexplained conditions, a source of fire appeared under the gas tank. The employee noticed, asked the 4 Nepali employees to get out and stop the traffic, while the two drivers were trying to put out the flames. Shortly after, the first explosion took place, in about an hour, various intervention crews arrived at the scene. Then followed the second explosion, the most powerful one that injured the firefighters who intervened. The injured included two citizens from Nepal. Zalău Explosion
The Zalău explosion occurred on September 14, 2007 in a block of flats in Zalău, Romania as the result of a gas leak. Two people died and fifteen were injured in the explosion. The structure was severely affected and the block of flats E24 was demolished in October 2007. A total of 19 families were affected by the deflagration. They had been petitioning local natural gas distributor E.ON Gaz for two years before the explosion as a strong smell of gas could be sensed both inside and outside the block of flats. This is a list of tank truck explosions. Before 2010 Alcanar, Spain (1978) The Los Alfaques disaster was a tank truck explosion that occurred near a holiday campsite on Tuesday 11 July 1978 in the municipality of Alcanar, Spain, and near the town of Sant Carles de la Ràpita. The exploding truck, which was carrying 23 tons of highly flammable liquefied propylene, killed 215 people and severely burned 200 more. Several individuals from the company that owned the vehicle were prosecuted for criminal negligence. The 2012 Sighetu Marmației explosions took place in the early hours of Sunday, February 19, 2012 in a nightclub in the city of Sighetu Marmației, Romania. The first explosion seriously injured 7 people. Another 10 people were injured in a second explosion, including members of a team of investigators at the scene. First explosion The first explosion occurred at around 00:56 EET in a nightclub in Sighetu Marmației. Approximately 120 people were in the club at that time. Ion-Marcel Ciolacu (born 28 November 1967) is a Romanian politician who currently serves as the leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
