Creativity Explored (CE) is a nonprofit organization in San Francisco that hosts a day program for developmentally disabled adult artists. Located in the Mission District and Potrero Hill, CE functions as a studio-based collective, offering, as of August 2023, over 130 artists art supplies, training, exhibition and sales opportunities.CE has a gallery in their Mission District location where they host shows and sell original artwork. The organization's motto is "Art Changes Lives". In 2018, the Legacy Business Program (of the City and County of San Francisco) recognized CE as a "San Francisco Legacy Business". Art Therapy
Art therapy (not to be confused with ''arts therapy'', which includes other creative therapies such as drama therapy and music therapy) is a distinct discipline that incorporates creative methods of expression through visual art media. Art therapy, as a creative arts therapy profession, originated in the fields of art and psychotherapy and may vary in definition. There are three main ways that art therapy is employed. The first one is called analytic art therapy. Analytic art therapy is based on the theories that come from analytical psychology, and in more cases, psychoanalysis. Analytic art therapy focuses on the client, the therapist, and the ideas that are transferred between the both of them through art. Another way that art therapy is utilized is art psychotherapy. Artsy, formally known as Art.sy Inc is a New York City based online art brokerage. Its main business is developing and hosting website for numerous galleries as well as selling art for them. It utilizes a search engine and database to draw connections and map relationships among works of art. The brokerage was founded by Carter Cleveland, a Princeton University computer science graduate. It is currently led by Mike Steib, a former CEO of XO Group, the parent company of The Knot. Artsy has received financial backing from multiple investors.
